#1 Elton74 Jul 10, 2013 10:14:22	Dragonmarks are like birthmarks, they always turn up in the worst of places.  Strange places where your dragonmarks turn up? Note, this doesn't always have to be on a person's body.  They can turn up on the land as well.
#2 Syltorian Jul 12, 2013 12:17:06	There was a dragon article in the days of 3.5 where they presented dragonmarks forming in gems or, my favourite, the year-rings of a freshly cut tree. I believe I have seen somewhere dragonmarks formed by the smoke of chimneys of a city, but cannot recall where. Other than that, some ideas would be the pattern of growth of a patch of mushrooms (like fey rings) or trees, a sudden change of currents in the sea swirling in the form of a dragonmark (anything from very subtle over a range of several hundred square miles to an actual wierd maelstrom), a vein of ore found in the Mror holds, crop "circles", bees swarming, blood leaking from a killed animal, a Siberys storm laying out a dragonmark pattern of shards, and the like. If you want dragonmarks more akin to those on mortal races (the blue-green shimmering things): unconsciously drawn by an artist, appearing on a pub sign, inside somebody's house, on the armoured walls of Argonth, on the rocky base of Skyway (visible from underneath), on a person's mirror image (but not on the actual person, and maybe only in one specific mirror), or as an aurora borealis. On people... bang on the face would be wierd, but is probably not unusual. I've seen it discussed somewhere whether a dragonmark can appear inside a person (say, the roof of the mouth, the ear canal, the stomach,...). Can't remember where I've read this, but it's not an original thought on my part.
