| #2m4kitsuAug 03, 2010 21:31:59 | Probably the same thing Sivis facilities are doing in Flamekeep, Korth, Wroat and Fairhaven? You know, business? |
| #3sevooAug 03, 2010 23:25:45 | Probably the same thing Sivis facilities are doing in Flamekeep, Korth, Wroat and Fairhaven? You know, business? oops, I should have posted in the "Running" forum, not the "Lore" forum... It's doing secret research and the head of the House has put significant resources into it -- I would have expected it to be in Korranberg. Unless they think that "linguistic research" is going to explode? It's not an ordinary place of business. |
| #4m4kitsuAug 04, 2010 3:21:58 | Yes, and I'm sure Sivis has things they'd like to keep hidden from the Trust, or easily deniable if it comes to light. Same reason Lyrandar does most of their R&D in Valenar, not on Stormhome. Same reason Ghallanda is based in Fairhaven, not Gatherhold. Maybe they got a good deal on the lease. Maybe they needed specific conditions, and Krona Peak fits. Maybe they want to be close to the "action" in the financial world -again, Krona Peak fits. Maybe they wanted to hire the best guards in the business. Maybe Krona Peak is just a big commercial city that has easy access to the right resources and imports. Maybe the Matriarch was looking over her quarterly reports and thought, "hey, we have all this space in Krona Peak that's between projects right now, why not do something with it?" But I get the sense your question was rhetorical in the first place. So what point are you trying to make? |
| #5OgiwanAug 04, 2010 8:14:39 | Well, another possibility is that Kundarak needs Sivis to notarize their letters of credit and other monetary-related documents. Or, it could be a cover for the real reason. |
| #6sevooAug 04, 2010 14:14:24 | But I get the sense your question was rhetorical in the first place. So what point are you trying to make? Um, no, it was a genuine question. There's little information in the 4e sourcebooks about either Tasker's Dream or Krona Peak, and the 3.5e books I own don't cover them. I was hoping somebody would post "that's mentioned in such-and-such book" or "that was left undefined on purpose" or something. In the absence of that, pure speculation is useful, too. |
