Thaliost to Fairhaven how did it happen

Jul 30, 2008 20:51:36 So i have been doing research (for so thing that you guys might like) and i have been wanting to know how did the Capital of Aundair go from Thaliost to Fairhaven. Fairhaven has Fairhold, the totally built home of the Queen and her family, and it has the artifacts of the family that would be hard to get out of a city being attacked. So the Questions is was it moved before the Last War or at the beginning or was it move after Thaliost was taken

Jul 30, 2008 22:15:39 I believe Fairhaven became the capital prior to the war, as part of the expansionist movement of Aundair towards the western reaches.

In fact, the city that carries the original name of the nation as areminder of its beginnings. It wasn't until later, as the nation spread to the west, that Fairhaven become its capital"

According to The Forge of War on Pg 20 Thaliost was seized by Thrane in 925 YK. In the same paragraph it mentions that Thaliost was the pre-Galifar capital, so one can surmise that once Galifar had cemented control of the continent his child-heirs chose Fairhaven to be the new captial.

I haven't found the exact reason why the capital was moved, but considering what happened during the Last War to Thaliost, I'd hazzard a guess that it was more of a tactical move to shift the captial to a more defensible location, especially in the early days of the Kingdom of Galifar when things were a little shakey.
