Seven fey knights who serve the lord of the feyspire, each embodying a different primal fear. I'm planning on using Taer Lian Doresh, and a couple of the Knights Terror in an upcoming campaign, but a curious thought occured to me: how would these knights react when coming face to face with another entity that might embody the same fear. Such as the Knight of the Unknown coming into contact with a Daelkyr or another of the Knights encountering the servants of an Overlord who partially embodies the same fear. Is the fear a knight represents just a mantle they wear or is it more essential to their being? Are they more loyal to Shan Lian Doresh or to their own natures? Thoughts? |

Powerful fey are supposed to be incarnations of natural forces, notions or seasons and these knights are not just fearful-they are fear. Your question about their loyalty is a good one. Personally I would expect most of them to stay loyal to the Fortress of Fading Dreams. After all, they reprsent one aspect of primal fear while this feyspire and its lord are embodying nightmares in their entirety. Then again, these are fey we are talking about;proud, vain, passionate, capricious. Conflict seems improbable but it could happen. As for Daelkyr and Demons, I suppose that eladrin arrogance and perceived would bring them at odds with these usurpers. An immortal spirit of terror would not be glad to meet a follower of the Overlord of war, the demon who personifies the worst and most fearful traits of it, would she? Concernig the Daelkyr, it seems to me that terror is a means to a cause, not the very soul of their existence. They cause terror in abundance, with what they consider to be artistry perhaps, but they are n Foolish and arrogant reactions, perhaps, but that's another story. All just personal opinions, of course . |

Creatures with thoughts that cannot be thought by mortals. With goals that elude human understanding. The knight may embody the fear of the unknown, but the daelkyr -are- the unknown. There's also the Truth in the Darkness, of who this is even more true. |
