A couple of months ago I figured that the Krogans of Mass Effect and the Warforged of Eberron has certain traits in common.

[Warning Mass Effect 1 spoilers beyond this point]
For those of you that do not know Mass Effect well its a space RPG from Bioware, centered around a human a bunch of aliens and the end of the world. You know, basic RPG stuff. The Krogan race is a bunch of war thirsty, tough guys who were so close to conquering the entire galaxy that they had to be made effectively sterile. Only 1:1000 babies survive being born. Making them a bit more pissed off at the world. Now our hero and his Krogan sidekick discovers that our main villain has been "fixing" the Krogan race and is close to curing the long sterility known as the genophage. They meet quite a few "rejects" and "failures" along their way to the bad guys base. Building up to the coming moral dilemma.

Either alow this work, to be continued. And let the bad guy live, thus reviving the Krogan race. The only problem is that they wold be the bad guys slaves so to speak. Most likely twisted into doing something evil. Or kill of the experiments, and ultimately doom the race to eventually vanish.

And that moral dilemma is something I would like to use in my games once. Works best with a Warforged in the party though.

Lets say that the players discovers that the Lord of Blades have nearly figured out how to activate and properly use his creation forge. And the players wish to confront him for something or another. So they make their way towards his base of operations. And discover a bunch of failures and rejects that does not fit the LoBstrs plans. Placed there as mere canonfoder. Will the players leave him to his shenanigans so that he may replenish the ranks of the dying warforged or will they stop him and his insane plans?

As a build up to this the warforged race should face immense prejudice. And it should be made a point about how their numbers are dwindling faster and faster due to aggression from other people, racism, them being mostly warriors etc. Finding a way to replenish them should be a worthy goal.
