Still a better love story than Twilight.

Not that thats saying much... Terminator 2 was a better love story than Twilight :P

But yeah, I continue to eat up these EoE articles. Really makes me wish they'd just commission Keith to write a gazetter of nothing but fluff about super-specific topics the Campaign Setting/Guide didn't have room to get into. Call it the "Wayfinder's Guidebook" and have it written partially or wholely with an in-character voice, like Tasker, or a traveling chronicler.

...Not that I'd be opposed to new Eberron crunch.... >_>;

I'd be all for a Wayfinder's Guide. And I'd like to see more crunch too, like the Jeff LaSala's upcoming Sentinel Marshal article. With that said, I'm glad to keep EoE fluff focused so that the material can remain useful regardless of what edition of the game you're playing!

Another great EoE, Keith. Thanks.

Speaking of Jeff's upcoming article, where the heck is it? This month has been less than impressive, in terms of magazine content. I'll be really disappointed if it's not up, tomorrow.

FAIL. The Sentinel Marshall article didn't make the cut, but the artwork did. The compilation features a pic of a Marshall flourishing a badge.

Shame. That was one of two articles I was really anticipating.

UPDATE! Sentinel Marshal article has been posted.

I was all ready to give WoTC the stink-eye too, but looks like they slid it in there at the last second.

As for the theme itself, I like it. I really do. But I have one issue with it.

I really really really wish Jeff just went ahead and made this "Race Requirement: Human" instead of waffling on it and only mentioning it in the fluff text. If FR gets race-specific Themes that reinforce the flavor of the setting, I don't see why Eberron can't. (I'm lookin at you, Breagan D'erth Spy)

If it's up to the DM to approve or disapprove, then it shouldn't be a base option in the Character Builder. I want any potential non-human Sentinel Marshal in any game I'm running to come to me and ask, and then I'll tell them they're allowed to have that little orange Houseruled indicator on the character builder.

Because it's a Houserule.

I don't know, it falls in the realm of easy to add or ignore for me, while keeping it something that people can use in other games.  In truth (I haven't read the article yet so this might of changed) the marshels don't have to be dragonmarked.

Edit: I'm thinking more the occupation not the prestige class (if there was there one I don't remember)

Eye on Eberron is once a month; then there are occasionally additional articles, like Jeff's Sentinel Marshal theme.

Yeah, but those same race requirements generated a rather big outcry because they got implemented in the character builder where they cannot be avoided. It also generated some discussion, since ultimately a theme like the werewolf or wererat one (and in all honesty, this one too) are not about a specific gang, tribe or family business. They are about a profession and/or curse, and there is no reason to limit them to a particular race outside a setting. So, please, yes, don't add racial requirements to themes ;)
