| #1dante_al-troncJun 05, 2008 2:35:52 | Okay, I've been scanning books all afternoon in search of names, specifically, the names of the 27 noble (prefixed with ir) houses. So far, I have come up with 15, 16 including the ir'Wynarn family, though I'm not sure if they'd have a seat in Parliament. The 15 families which I am sure are Brelish (either they appear in SCoT or are otherwise identified as Brelish) are: ir'Clarn (Human) ir'Demell (...) ir'Kavay ir'Talan ir'Marasha ir'Jalon ir'Tajar ir'Oeskai ir'Zarna ir'Morgrave (...) ir'Tain (Half-Elven) ir'Moran (Dwarven) ir'Tonn (Halfling) ir'Thadian (Elven) ir'Iff (Elven) Two additional names I found in PGtE are ir'Vran and ir'Simul. These could potentially be Brelish, and if one were to assume that ir'Wynarn also had a seat in Parliament, then nine houses are still unaccounted for. Was this intentional or are they named elsewhere? And before anyone says anything - I know about ir'Tyran. I also know that they were stripped of their noble rank, so they no longer count towards the 27. |

In fact, I'm relatively certain that even many of the ones you have listed here are not specifically intended as members of the Brelsih Parliament... but if you want to use them that way, you are more than welcome to do so. And by the way, thanks for the handy resource you've created with this list! |

(Maybe the last time they sat was for the emancipation of the warforged...) I originally started this list as a compilation of the Sharn Sixty, but after 6 hours, decided I'd settle for the Parliament and let it rest. As a side note, the demi-human noble houses would seem to hold much more power/prestige in Parliament. Humans have gone through 5 or 6 generations, whereas the dwarfs and elves have barely gone through one, and the half-elves and halflings 3 or 4 at most. Aren't senior members usually accorded greater privileges and powers? |
