| #1gamer_zer0Oct 21, 2007 18:27:34 | I'm trying to pull together a list of questions that I can bring to the 4E team. I'm trying to get a few from each of the major forums areas. I'd appreciate if the community could work together to try to come up with a top 5 list of questions that I can include in my compilation. Thanks! -Mike |
| #2the_balrog_dupOct 21, 2007 20:25:34 | 1. When and How will be available the 4e rules for Artificer and the Eberron Races? 2. The changes in the PHB races and classes will have an impact in Eberron, or not? |
| #3AmarilOct 21, 2007 20:47:14 | What new topics will the first supplements explore? Planes of Eberron? "Other Nations" of Eberron? |
| #4gnomeninja5Oct 21, 2007 21:28:35 | Now that specific things like Shifters and Warforged are in the MM, what will make Eberron unique? What will be the Artificer's purpose, now that magic items are less prevalent, and the creation rules are cleaned up? Will it even still exist? |

| #6daijagaOct 22, 2007 7:40:57 | As mentioned - What is the future for the artificer look like? When can we expect to start hearing about this class? Could we hear more about why the campaign setting will not be advanced in years to accommodate for all the rest of the "new" being associated with 4e? With so many current 3.5 supplements available for Ebberon, it seems that Ebberon is very rooted in the 3.5 world. Will 4e re-visit many of these supplements or is the campaign update limited to the core material? How does Ebberon stack against other popular settings like Forgotten Realms in terms of precedence of product and speed/availability of campaign material? Since some races introduced in Ebberon are becoming core errata, (shifters, eg.) is Ebberon losing some of its 'special' to the Core setting? If so, what is Ebberon getting that will retain its individuality. |
| #7wizardmonOct 22, 2007 12:22:24 | 1) What is happening to Artificers? 2) One of Eberron's themes has been "If its D&D, its in Ebberon," but has also been handcrafted for 3.5e. What does changing to 4e mean in terms of accuracy of these terms? 3) What is going to happen to the Eberron-specific races, especially since two of them are confirmed to be in the MM. 4) How does Ebberon stack against other popular settings like Forgotten Realms in terms of precedence of product and speed/availability of campaign material? 5) What about the little gnome-lits? T.T |
| #8OnslaughtITOct 22, 2007 13:13:55 | 1) Artificer Stuff: What (is going to happen with them)? When (we will see them)? How (it will work with 4E non-item-based)? Where (we will see them)? 2) We know at least one Eberron race (Shifters) will be into MM, probably Warforgeds and Changellings will be there too. How much detail we will have about them there? We will see them re-print in an Player's Guide to Eberron, with more options? 3) One word: Eladrins. |
| #9gnomeninja5Oct 22, 2007 15:25:38 | Could we hear more about why the campaign setting will not be advanced in years to accommodate for all the rest of the "new" being associated with 4e? It's not being advanced because people on the forums were complaining about the time jump. I was personally psyched up about it. |
| #10wizardmonOct 22, 2007 15:28:27 | I think that the two questions involving races and the two involving Artificers are so similar that they should be grouped : ) |
| #11tiwaztyrsfistOct 22, 2007 16:48:12 | So, here are my top questions. 1. What's going to happen with Artificer? How will it change, will we see a new version in the first 4th ed Eberron splat book? 2. How are the Eberron Specific races going to work in 4e? How will shifters shifting improve? Will we be getting a decent and balance race prog for Orcs and Hobgoblins in the Eberron book? Cause we need those, they are pretty major races in Eberron. 3. How will Dragon Marks work in 4e? Will they continue to be feats, or will they become an alternate race/class feature sort of thing? How often will they be usable? 4. Okay, Settings not advancing time wise. Are there ANY major changes to the setting planned beyond what is ABSOLUTELY NECCESSARY for the change in game mechanics? 5. What's the projected release date for the first 4th Ed Eberron book? If, as I understand (Something about "One Setting a year, and Forgotten realms is the first, followed by Eberron), it's at or around January 2009, will we get the important bits beforehand as web enhancements, like 4e artificer, kalashar, shifter, changeling, etc? |

| #13OnslaughtITOct 22, 2007 18:50:07 | I think that the two questions involving races and the two involving Artificers are so similar that they should be grouped : ) That's why I grouped it in What/Where/When/How questions! @ GnomeNinja5: Please update the list acordingly. |
| #14daijagaOct 22, 2007 20:33:00 | It's not being advanced because people on the forums were complaining about the time jump. I was personally psyched up about it. I find that disappointing. I couldn't foresee another good opportunity to revise the Eberron world. I guess they wanna keep it stuck where it is. Shame, I think 3.5 and 4e Eberrons should feel very different since they are obviously going to play very different. Thanks for the nod Ninja |
| #15haulbrandsOct 22, 2007 21:44:26 | Will 4E Eberron have the same level of phasing out gnomes as the core manuals? |
| #16AmarilOct 22, 2007 22:54:01 | I find that disappointing. I couldn't foresee another good opportunity to revise the Eberron world. I guess they wanna keep it stuck where it is. Shame, I think 3.5 and 4e Eberrons should feel very different since they are obviously going to play very different. Thanks for the nod Ninja But those not switching to 4e are left behind with any new sourcebooks that cover new topics in Eberron, such as the remaining nations and regions of Khorvaire or the Planes of Eberron. Additionally, any changes in the setting would be reflected in every other adventure, sourcebook or article released, all of which would be extremely frustrating to rollback considering the vast number of ripples that would be created in the shallow, small pond that is Eberron. In other words, Eberron is still too young and unexplored for any sort of advancement. It's only 4 years old with only some of the meatier topics being covered within the last 2 years. |
| #17Calestin_KethalOct 23, 2007 3:33:34 | 1. What is going to happen to Artificers. 2. Mechanically, how different are warforged going to be? 3. Will all of the Eberron specific PC races (shifters, kalashtar, warforged, and changelings) be available as "Monsters as PC's" in the MM1? If not, which ones are or aren't going to be in MM1? 4. How will Eladrin fit? 5. How will dragonmarks work in 4th? Feats, talent trees, racial substitutions, or something completely different? |
| #18makeshiftwingsOct 23, 2007 3:59:33 | 1) Will the new 4e core elements (specifically: Eladrin, Tieflings as core, changes to the elf, changes to the Warlock, introduction of Feywild/Shadowfell and removal of the Ethereal/Shadow planes) be implemented into Eberron; will they be made significant or will they be downplayed; and how much of a retcon, if any, would be involved? 2) Will there be any info at all for Eberron in the year between 4e's release and the new ECS's release, like Dragonshards, D&DI articles, etc? |
| #19valdraxOct 23, 2007 20:33:04 | I second the following questions:
|
| #20bossemeyerOct 28, 2007 18:25:54 | Though The Races are asked more... Artificer is listed first in many people's question... right now we know that many races are going to be in the MM and this should be good for most of us... wither they are unique is a mute point as they are all in the MM already... but the Artificer is an Important part of Eberron... i think that should be the #1 Question... |
| #21gamer_zer0Oct 29, 2007 13:41:55 | Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to try and get as many of the following questions addressed as possible. What is going to happen to the Eberron-specific races, especially since two of them are confirmed to be in the MM. What is going to happen to the Gnomes, now that they might not be in the PHB? How will this affect Eberron? Are Eladrin going to be retconned in? If so, how? What will happen to the Artificer? Also, what will be the Artificer's purpose, now that magic items are less prevalent, and the creation rules are cleaned up? Will it even still exist? When is the planned release for the Eberron Campaign Setting Book? What are the Warforged going to be like, mechanically? How will Dragonmarks work in 4E? |
| #22johnjstantonOct 31, 2007 1:58:18 | Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to try and get as many of the following questions addressed as possible. It would be really helpful to get answers to those questions. Will the answers be coming in the form of a D&DI column or in the _Wizard's Presents: Worlds and Monsters_ and _Wizard's Presents: Classes and Races_ books. Will those two books be a preview of 4th edition? Thanks, John |
| #23bossemeyerOct 31, 2007 7:35:36 | When is the planned release for the Eberron Campaign Setting Book? O we Know... and it for the love of God better be 2009!!! if Dragonlance or grayhawk or some other Campaign gets its 4E treatment before us there will be Hell to pay... By the Hellcow's WRATH!!! : ] But over all those look good : ] |
| #24AmarilOct 31, 2007 7:40:11 | When is the planned release for the Eberron Campaign Setting Book? Truthfully, I'm more concerned about supplemental material. It seems most mechanical concerns will addressed in the first three core books, and the changes to the core races shouldn't effect Eberron much since there will not be any plot advancement or changes to the setting. |
| #25tiwaztyrsfistNov 20, 2007 13:03:49 | So, how goes the whole Top 5 questions thing? Are we going to get some info soon? It's been about three weeks, just curious what was going on with this. |
| #26valdraxNov 20, 2007 19:48:02 | So, how goes the whole Top 5 questions thing? I'm pretty sure that if he hasn't unstickied this thread that he isn't watching this forum, much less the thread itself. ;) |
| #27jhthomasFeb 04, 2008 19:55:07 | One question I've had that's probably too broad, but oh well. . . Especially after reading Worlds and Monsters, I'm left wondering: will the "feel" of Eberron change? It's got many things that are dramatically different than the "feel" that R&D said they were going for in the default setting -- it's explicitly contradictory of the "points of light" idea, for instance -- plus things like the new cosmology, the Feywild and Shadowfell, etc. I'm less concerned about what happens to a specific race or class, honestly. I guess another way of putting it would be: In the Eberron setting book, there are "Ten Things You Need to Know" about Eberron that's a 2 page intro to the tone & feel of the setting. Are those 10 things changing? I'm sure that I'll find a race and class I want to play, so I'm not really sweating that. |
| #28androkguzMar 18, 2008 16:15:54 | How will feywild-using powers work? |
