Using "Cast as Ritual" in Next makes Eberron better (IMO)

So, I've been trying to decide on which set of rules to use in my next game (Pathfinder, 3.5, or Next), and I got to thinking about how the ability to cast spells as rituals not only makes spellcasters not-so vancian anymore (doesn't take up a spell slot) but helps explain the power of the Dragonmarked Houses.

Here's how I would do it:

Dragonmarks:
Allow for use of their representative spell per day, but also allow the bearer to cast the spell as a ritual at 75% of normal cost.

With this, you suddenly have explained why the Dragonmarked Houses have been able to dominate economically: they can undercut the competition by a LOT, but STILL make a profit.  As a bonus, it also still keeps the "dragonmarked service only has X chance of being available today" intact: obviously, they'd want to cast the spell when they could do it for maximum profit, but if pressed, they could do it over and over again in cases where the economy demanded it.

Cast as Ritual also helps the Magewrige immensely, as they don't suddenly have to stop working after three jobs in a day: they simply would cast all their spells as rituals, and then charge slightly more than it costs to cast the spell.

I'm also thinking of homebrewing the Artificer in 3.5 if that's where I go to instead have GP value for item creation, instead of XP value... I never liked the idea of trading XP for a magical item.  I thought this was an interesting take from Pathfinder.

Your idea is quite good, and if I recall correctly echoes much of what Keith Baker has said about the dragonmarked, magewrights and ritual casting. This shows how good it would be to have a full support of Eberron in dndnext
