The Liberation Tigers of Thaliostan Emancipation would, as the name suggests, have pictures of tigers on their flags and heraldry, would refer to themselves (and be referred to by most people) as "the tigers," and all that. Meanwhile, there's a rakshasa or two pulling the strings of the upper layers of the organization (most members don't know). All of the tiger symbolism kinda hints at that, but no one actually makes the connection. The LTTE is dedicated to the liberation of Thaliost and environs from Thranish occupation and a return to Aundairan sovereignty. They're your basic, all-around nasty pieces of work: robbing Kundarak banks, smuggling drugs, killing priests of the Silver Flame, throwing acid in the faces of collaborators, extorting local merchants, kidnapping kids for ransom or to use as human shields, etc. The Knights of Thrane are convinced that the group is entirely local. There's a widespread belief that the LTTE receives support from Aundair, but the Knights of Thrane have uncovered no evidence of this, and (correctly) believe that it is false. Occassionally, wilder theories have been suggested: that the Tigers are actually run by vampires, or that they all have tiny Daelkyr symbionts under their tongues, or that they are possessed by demons. The Knights of Thrane have in all cases found that these theories have no evidence to support them and that, furthermore, those making the allegations are generally extremely unreliable (frequently having records of mental instability, substance abuse, fabrication, etc). As such, the Knights of Thrane presume any new such rumors claiming that there is more than there appears to be to the LTTE are false. |

As a minor point: the Siberian Tiger Panthera tigris altaica lives in northwest asia, a place known for being rather chilly. |
