| #1lunarwolfprimeFeb 20, 2008 17:34:06 | We are those that have learned how to shackle the beast that lies whith in all of us and now that we have faught it we can now release it when we see fit, but only when we let loose our bindings Crimalia RedClaw; Head monk of the Red Claw shifter Monistery Deep in the Eldeen Reach lies a shifter society that wishes to learn how to fully control thier lycanthropic heritage as well as learn to how to make themselves even stonger while they are not shifted. Oh and if you are wondering why I made it so feat heavy, it is because they are ment to be specalist in their unique way of fighting and also I thought that it would help with the balance of giving them ablilties simular to the Weretouched Masters, and the Moon Speakers. |
| #3no-sides-sameethFeb 21, 2008 12:40:31 | I posted a response on the main board. You might want to condense the threads down to one for ease of discussion. |
| #4lunarwolfprimeFeb 21, 2008 13:02:33 | I figured if it was slow here that I should post it in the main for more traffic. Besides I am more worried about balance than any thing else on this right now, no offense |
| #5ShiftkittyFeb 21, 2008 14:42:23 | I have nothing constructive to add. I just wanted to say that I am really tired from lack of sleep and read the name of your PrC as "Wretched Monkey". That's it. I'm going to bed. Right here, at my desk... ![]() |
| #6BelabrasFeb 21, 2008 17:28:12 | I love how you've incorporated the feats from Dragon. Very nice. My gripes: -Four kinds of big cat and no Pounce? Seems a shame. -The Tiger's Weretouched II ability isn't very useful when they already have Beast Strike. How about a Rend instead? -Unshackle the Beast. Horribly unbalanced toward the Bear, then Lion, then Tiger. Check out the errata for the Weretouched Master for a more balanced take on this. It's important the stat bonuses total the same for all forms. -You should either lower the skill points, or shift the BAB down one. Also, this is a PRC, so we don't need a method for figuring the level 1 skill points. -Why in the world is Two Weapon fighting a requirement? It doesn't work with natural weapons, and making it work for Unarmed Strikes is pretty iffy. I'd take it out. That's all I can think of for now. I really like the idea, and like how you've built on the Dragon article though. |
| #7lunarwolfprimeFeb 22, 2008 10:19:25 | I love how you've incorporated the feats from Dragon. Very nice. the special ability of the style that you get if you take all 3 bonus feats, TWF and have 9 ranks in jump by lvl 6 you get to do pouncing flurry TWF is a pre req for the styles final trick I was trying not say that due to the rule's on info, I hope I do not get in trouble for this comment. |
| #8BelabrasFeb 22, 2008 16:49:53 | Ah, gotcha. Honestly, I'd make the PRC an alternate path to Pounce for Shifter Monks, but that's just me. I hate to see a feat wasted. |
| #9brotherdogFeb 28, 2008 2:30:30 | Hmmmm.... Neat, but why did you replace most of the Lycanthropic varieties with more felines? Where are the Shark, Bat, Rat, Boar, and Jaguar? I haven't read anything that listed Lions, Panthers, or Cheetahs as Were-types on Eberron. - The Lion's roar could easily be a sonic attack from the Bat traits. - The increased speed from the Cheetah could go to the Jaguar traits but limit it to the treetops(similar to certain Wuxia films), this would also cover the Panther as well. - It takes allot more discipline to balance Chaos and Law, rather than just give-in to robotic law. This class looks as if it should require a monk to embrace some Chaos into his discipline and therefore be changing his alignment to ethicly neutral from law. All in all, I like many of the ideas of this PrC, but you seemed to have skipped over too many Shifter-traits and their bloodlines. If I were to use it, I'd feel the need to tweak it to compensate for these things. Even if only for the flavor. Good ideas though.... ;;D |
| #10lunarwolfprimeFeb 28, 2008 8:06:26 | Hmmmm.... I was thinking fo diffrent Kung-fu disciplens when I made this, I know some are fictiscious, but I was thinking about add those other animals later just I am haveing a probs with the ideas for their abilites. If any one has any ideas for them pls post them here and I will give you creds for your help and put them in if they fit well. |

| #12brotherdogMar 26, 2008 3:26:19 | I've been wanting to post, but usually can't get on until just before they close the boards for maintainance. I worked on a post for 2 hours a couple of weeks ago, only to have the boards closed when I finnished, flushing it all away. |
