When attending fancy parties, always wear your best hat.

I endorse Novacat's response. Although I would pare it with a monocle.

Seriously, whatever you want. Some 'forged may polish themselves up, whereas others might decide to take on the fashions of the culture they are in. Even more so than other races, fashion for a warforged is an innately personal choice.

Hah. In the Heirs of Ash trilogy, there was a 'forged who wore a straw hat and pants. Never explained why, but he did. He got injured pretty bad in the Mournland, and had to get lifted out, but his hat fell off. When he recovered, the party's halfling (who flies on a dinosaur) presented him with his hat.

Grrr, I can't find it, so I can't quote it.

Anyways. The 'forged asks the halfling why he flew into the Mournland to get his hat back. The halfling responded, "You always wear it. I thought it was something special." The warforged replied, "It is now."

Anyways. If it is an inquiry for a character, tell us more about the character. If its just an idle question, well, I'm sure we can come up with plenty of ideas.

I'd assume that there's no tradition here, seeing as Warforged tend to be lower class. This would be a great rping oppurtunity for your character.

Some ideas:
--Paint yourself. It washes off, and you could really stand out with gold paint.
reforger
--polish.
--find an oversized gentleman's wear, or better yet, a dress! Make sure to mention all the holes you put in it.

Apart from clothes (appropriately tailored for a warforged of course) any kind of bolt-on or 'magnet-on' ornamentation, specifically medals and unit crests.

Specially designed attachable enameled panels. Think a set of attatched/embedded armour specifically designed to look pretty.

Hah. They would probably refer to it as some sort of "dress uniform."

We go in style to a Black or White tie function to look good, dress neatly and appear presentable.

The sames rules would apply for the Warforged. More than likely shmee (gender with Warforged always has me rolling my eyes) would have it's wooden components polished and oiled. For the metal structural components I can see them changing the sections out for more polished and valuable components. You wear steel out in the field, you switch to silver, electrum or platinum at the formal dinner. Laquererd wooden plates, silver or gold inlay even.

I expect that most Warforged would wear a very stylish and clean weapon to the fuction. First and foremost a Warforged is a soldier, built for war and very good at it. Their weapon would be like a gentlemans' tophat, glove and cane. It would accent their appearance and allow for a certain element of individualism. So a longsword, rapier, dagger or twin shortswords, well cleaned and presented would suit them well. For a more magically inclined warforged perhaps their focus staff, with minor magical cantrips to make it apparent what purpose the staff serves.

Well, I imagine the bandolier of goblin skulls would have to go. Maybe the bandolier of hobgoblin skulls would be classier? Should probably clean one's weapons too. Blood on the sword is so tacky.

Honestly, it comes down to character more than anything else. One 'Forged I played would have polished every inch of himself, added decorative paint and "dressed" to the nines. Another would barely have understood why carrying in a Mordenkrad still splattered with the blood of his last foe is a bad idea.

A Warforged at a fancy party that isn't the hired help is probably going to stick out regardless of dress.

I imagine that using Goblinoid skulls would raise accusations of racism.

A representative for a goblinoid civil rights movement would most certaintly use political clout to start a criminal investigation.

Because blood left on your weapon will tarnish, rust, and generally reduce the value of said weapon.
