| #1IskandrAug 07, 2010 17:50:40 | With the news that FR is getting more 4e books I am now crossing my fingers that Eberron will eventually get the same treatment! I personally would like to see a 4e book devoted to Xen'drik with a bunch of "newly discovered ruins" to explore. |
| #2ChrisTheSAug 07, 2010 20:15:22 | I still haven't used all of the original Xen'drik book... The 3e books have adequately covered most of the ground on the setting (though Aerenal and Valenar are still a bit sketchy). I'd rather see a thematic sourcebook than a regional one: something with options and suggestions for campaigns that approach the setting from different angles. Options for inquisitives, for mercenaries, for merchant lords, for courtly politicking, for spies, (we've already got a book for explorers) as well as some helpful guidelines for formulating campaigns along a particular theme. Also, finalized PC stats for goblins is an absolute MUST. |
| #3OgiwanAug 07, 2010 20:46:28 | Seconded. Especially the finalized goblinoid stats. I would *love* to play a Goblinoid PC. Mix in the Goblin from Bassingthwaithe's books....ahhh it'd be fun...... I wonder what they could do with themes for Eberron. Personally, I *loved* the Thunder Guide, so seeing that as a theme might be pimp as hell. |
| #4IskandrAug 07, 2010 21:42:54 | Thinking along that line, having some feats or maybe even a PP for inquisitives would be interesting. A Durkala PP for Hobgoblin Bards would be really awesome! |
| #5monkeygodAug 08, 2010 18:40:27 | Honestly, i think a regional "Catch-All" book, similar to Five Nations, but for everything else(sans Xen'Drik and Sarlona) would rock. Perhaps it would need to be two different books or even three, but whatever it would need to be i wouldn't care. I don't even play 4e, but if a solid book came out that covered in good detail Darguun, The Demon Wastes, Droaam, The Eldeen Reaches, Lhazaar Principalities, The Mror Holds, Q'Barra, The Talenta Plains, Valenar and Zilargo i wouldn't care if it was published under 6th edition rules and i needed to read via a mirror under the light of a full moon. Such a book(or series of books) could contain a lot of the suggestions already mentioned on this thread, such as the Durkala PP in the section for Darguun, and the stuff on courtly politics, spies and inqusitives could be covered in the Zilargo chapter. |
| #6Bly2729Aug 08, 2010 22:44:18 | They could probably do an entire book on how to run political intrigue. It'd be great to see that as opposed to yet another lost Cannith facility. |
| #7hanzo187Aug 09, 2010 21:20:04 | I want some more material on Darguun. I pretty much was gaga for them before Legacy of Dhakaan, but now, they're epic win. I think some material of the inner workings of other organizations would be great, since some get little more than a passing mention (if any). That way, we could get some ideas and go from there. We don't REALLY know much of the Order of the Emerald Claw, and even less of the Restless Watch (is that the right name?), the Cabinet of Faces (a potentially amazing enemy or friendly group), the khesh'dar (they deserve some love), along with any other minor group. In fact, many weren't even mentioned in the Eberron Campaign Guide. I'd like to know a little more about the inner workings of the King's Citadel, the Royal Eyes of Aundair, and The Trust. Spy networks are always the most interesting to me. And, if possible, we should finally see the goblinoid races statted out, with racial feats. Once again, the goblinoids deserve the love. |
| #8ChrisTheSAug 10, 2010 17:16:19 | Someone with Batman as their avatar should not be using words like 'gaga.' |
| #9hanzo187Aug 10, 2010 19:38:34 |
I'm in disguise right now. ![]() |
| #10Cyber-DaveAug 11, 2010 2:44:57 | I will buy anything they sell me. Gotta love Eberron! Though I must admit, I am very stoked about Dark Sun (waiting for my preorders to come in the mail) and Ravenloft (in 2011) too! |
| #11durskutAug 11, 2010 21:51:43 | For me it's three words: Ages of Eberron Basically a history book in Five Nations style. I'd put some comments and theories on the creation myth and its different interpretations today as an opener. Then each age would get ~30 pages on description, important points in the age, maybe important figures, ways which the age shows its scars on the current (998 yk) Eberron, and round it out with some cool adventure sites. I'd have 5 sections as follows: Age of Demons, Age of Giants, Age of Monsters, the Current Age (pre-Galifar), and the Current Age (from 0YK to beginning of the Last War). Eberron has always been talked about as having a rich history with thousands of tales having been told before the PCs are even born. While there is a host of material to work with, Eberron's past has never been explored in detail. |
| #12JimmifettAug 12, 2010 5:36:08 | For me it's three words: Ages of Eberron This, plus goblins stats and quori (past and present). As it stands i'm trying to put together a time travel adventure set during the end of the giant war and the exodus of the elves and the dragon apocalypse. It would be nice to have more general info of this time. |
| #13VaelAug 15, 2010 9:38:19 | The main issue is a new sourcebook would need a strong unifying factor, like the Neverwinter book. A new Sharn book would be interesting, definitely a place there for Goblinoid PC writeups. Plus, I need another tower poster map. Ultimately, I just want another Eberron book. |
| #14SiberysAug 15, 2010 11:35:24 | My wishlist; Goblinoids Quori & Daelkyr Heroic Themes Other Variant Rules for Eberron Fluff on history and 'Outlying' Khorvaire, by which I mean those areas not covered by Five Nations, Dragons of Eberron, or Secrets of Sarlona or Xen'drik. |
| #15PJammaGodAug 15, 2010 21:11:34 | I would love to see a remake/rebuild of the Sharn: City of Towers book. Sharn is just so iconic to Eberron, it deservs a more detailed write-up and update. I have my own well care-worn book sitting next to me right now and though I love it, the ordering and layout could do with a nice little update. If the next few book releases are supposed to support the setting in what it's best known for, Sharn would be it. That or a re-release of Five Nations, again for the same reasons. It's the major play-pen for players and could do with more of a fleshing out. Fluff for characters and perhaps a little crunch for those wanting to play more iconic character types. |
| #16sevooAug 16, 2010 17:31:07 | They could probably do an entire book on how to run political intrigue. It'd be great to see that as opposed to yet another lost Cannith facility. I want some more material on Darguun. I pretty much was gaga for them before Legacy of Dhakaan, but now, they're epic win. And, if possible, we should finally see the goblinoid races statted out, with racial feats. Once again, the goblinoids deserve the love. These. Some of what makes Eberron feel very *different* from other settings: the intrigue, and the civilized "monsters." I don't see any reason for a re-release of the previous edition's books; they're already pretty useful to a 4e campaign, and I'd rather see something different covered. (I was surprised to see another FR book coming. I'd be *thrilled* to see another eberron book, and would likely buy it even if it *is* just bringing an earlier book up to date...but I'd prefer something altogether new.) |
| #17joni-sanAug 16, 2010 18:51:49 | I'd like to see more Eberron books. I feel that expanding the setting would be preferrable to re-treading covered ground. Something for Goblinoids would be a good start. |
| #18mikronAug 17, 2010 4:24:04 | I put in another vote for Goblinoids. I'd also like to see more info on all kinds of locations - think of a whole book in the style of the Insider Article "Backdrop: Graywall". It would have maps of major cities/ sites with more personalities than covered in the Campaign Guide. And then I'd love to see more Eberron - specific miniatures. A halfling riding on a glidewing, the Brelish bear cavalry, Valenar elves (that are not rare), unique figures, a huge airship with space of combats (obviously a small one, but better than nothing), minis bearing the dragonmarked symbols or crests of the Five Nations and so on.... |
| #19alkhorAug 17, 2010 7:18:37 | I have all of the 3.5 books..... so I'd like stuff that has not been released before. My wishlist would be - "Exten Khorvaire" (Darguun, The Demon Wastes, Droaam, The Eldeen Reaches, Lhazaar Principalities, The Mror Holds, Q'Barra, The Talenta Plains, Valenar and Zilargo) as someone stated before. - Khyber ? - Cities of Eberron (detailed (not as detailed as in Sharn or Stormreach) description of the Big Cities in Eberron) Basically, I'm interrested in everything that involves background, maps, cities, people, lifestyle, economy, ..... Plots ideas, .... And of course...... keep on writing novels :-) |
| #20AvonRekaesAug 17, 2010 8:46:07 | Yeah, a Five Nations-style gazeteer of "Wild Khorvaire" would probably be the best bet. I think, to date, that's the only section of Eberron that hasn't gotten it's own book yet. (Excepting the Frostfell and Everice) |
| #21ChrisTheSAug 17, 2010 8:49:19 | Frostfell did get its own book - it was just a world-neutral one. |
| #22AvonRekaesAug 17, 2010 8:55:45 | I do miss the environmental books. I kinda always hoped there would've been a "Muckmarsh - A Guide to Swamps" or something. :P |
| #23OgiwanAug 17, 2010 10:31:55 | Wouldn't, "#%$^%^& My boot is stuck!" be a better title for a swamp book? edit: Anyways, back on topic, as I've said before, a Goblinoid (or maybe a Monstrous Creature) book would be great. Information on how to play the divide between Darguun and Khorvaire goblins, or how to be a good Minotaur in Eberron, or what have you, would be great. Along with feats, PPs, and maybe themes; Darguun Chainmaster, anyone? |
| #24HellcowAug 17, 2010 15:22:59 | For me it's three words: Ages of Eberron This is one I've pushed for many years, but it's always had mixed reviews. Part of my line of thinking is that it would provide information that could be useful in a modern campaign. A Dhakaani/Daelkyr chapter would provide information on playing Goblins & Gatekeepers that would be useful in the present, and new aberrations and such. A War of the Mark chapter would provide expanded information on aberrants and a more diverse range of Dragonmark focus items & weapons (my "Delirium Stone" adventure did a little of this, including some creatures Vadalis bred for the war). So I think there's a lot that could be done here, but I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for it. |
| #25AvonRekaesAug 17, 2010 15:25:41 | Wouldn't, "#%$^%^& My boot is stuck!" be a better title for a swamp book? Yeah, it sounds like a great way to incorporate player options in a "Wilds of Khorvaire" book. Three new players races (Goblin, Hobgoblin, and Bubgear), more optons for Gnolls (A PP for the Znir pact?), shifters (new shifter traits?), tieflings (from the Demon Wastes), and minotaurs. Maybe something on Orcs too, definately more stuff for Half-Orcs. Fits pretty good in a book detailing Droam, The Demon Wastes, Darguun, and the Shadow Marches (among other things) |
| #26accuserAug 17, 2010 20:54:31 | I want Eberron Themes. An Inquisitive should be able to do something that says, "Oh, that guy's an Inquisitive." Same for all members of a Dragonmarked House, regardless of whether they are actually Marked. I'm sure, given the time, I could come up with about fifty themes that could be uniquely illustrated in the setting, and there would be room for more. Whatever book contains that is what I want. |
| #27ars51Aug 18, 2010 6:54:23 | I have all of the 3.5 books..... so I'd like stuff that has not been released before. +1 We got a 5 nations book in 3rd Ed, but I was surprised as well to not see a book that had a much more detailed look at these new nations, which were defined by the treaty of thronehold and full of potential and plots in the setting. I'm kind of w/e on Khyber, a generic 'underdark' book i think can give you the tools to make a good Khyber adventure. But if there was a abook that more readly fleshed out the planes of Eberron, that would be neat. I don't know what to make of them other then they have a physical manifistation (ala the moons) and you can move them about. But there are beings like Radiant Idols who come from these places which have a few sentences of discription and thats it. I hope I'm making sense. So early... |
| #28Madfox11Aug 19, 2010 7:31:50 | For me it's three words: Ages of Eberron Sounds like something I would love as well ;) It would give us more info on many of the interesting villains, from Daelkyr to the Quori, as well as more player orientated stuff (goblins, magic items, lost rituals, lost powers, etc.). |
| #29IgfigAug 22, 2010 22:33:17 | I'm not sure if I'm phrasing this right, but the thing I really want to see is a guide to running campaigns in certain (setting-appropriate) genres. You'd have a chapter about political intrigue, a chapter about inquisitives (game noir), a chapter about something involving goblins, a chapter about swashbuckling and pirates, a chapter about crime capers, and perhaps a few others. Each would have a whole slew of of DM/player advice, a big pile of fluff, and a small dollop of crunch. Sort of like a bunch of one-chapter Heroes of Horror. You could do this for other settings too: Dark Sun could have slave rebellions, survival horror, planetary romance maybe, city administration, and the RPG equivalent of Cape Breton Island Fisherman/Miner Family Drama. Ravenloft could have, well... various sorts of horror. Forgotten Realms... eh, give it slapstick comedy. Maybe a Bildungsroman. |
| #30androkguzAug 29, 2010 14:50:05 | This is pretty weird. Back in 3.5 era the book everyone, and me, wanted was... The Planes of Eberron But everything everyone has said here sounds beautiful too. |
| #31superdeadsmurfAug 30, 2010 22:44:41 | While parts of it have already been done, I'd love to see a long gazetteer type book - about 5-10 pages for each region (even those not in Khorvaire) and plane, and two or more pages for every major city/capital. I personally would love it to be almost devoid of mechanics, but full of art and plot hooks. A new Sharn, City of Towers Campaign Guide (a la Neverwinter Campaign Guide ) would also be awesome - even it's pretty much a straight reprint of the 3.5 one, with an index. |
| #32black_saintSep 05, 2010 19:31:59 | I want them to make a Monster Manual with all new monsters specifically for Eberron. However, I would love them to organize it differently than the other Monster Manuals. I want the monsters categorized by what environment you can find them in. This could be separated either by country and continent, or by Forest, jungle, desert, mountain, ice, snow, plains, caverns, underdark, so on and so forth. |
| #33Acarg52Sep 07, 2010 22:35:43 | In 2011, we're getting Monster Vault: Threats to the Nentir Vale, so I'd like to see Monster Vault: Threats to Khorvaire. Especially since I've been reading the Dark Sun Creature Catalog, and think that Eberron could benefit greatly from some more "eberron-y" monsters. |
| #34Mr._WilsonSep 09, 2010 5:02:52 | I'm not holding my breath on any new books (or heck, even new articles in Dragon) given WoTC's new business model for campaign settings, but my list would include: 1.) A book in 5-Nations style focusing on the other nations of Khorvaire. 2.) A city book as mentioned earlier in the thread. 3.) A Lost Empires of Eberron ala Lost Empires of Faerun style book. There's a hundred other things I want articles on (the Swords of Liberty, Thaliost, the Twelve, etc, etc, etc). |
