What's happening to Thelanis?

With the Eladrin story that Feyspires are stuck on Eberron, I was wondering what was happening to Thelanis and other manifest zones like the Twilight Demesne in the Eldeen Reaches.

Is planar travel between the Fey world and Eberron still easy, or it has become more difficult with the Mourning?

The ECB mentions that crossing over is actually easier at the locations of the spires then it was before. Which has the potential side effects that for the Spire of Nightmares you can actually physically enter the plane of dreams and vice versa with more ease then usual - assuming you want that to happen...

Which remind me, maybe that was the whole intent of the Mourning: giving the Quori a backdoor to physically enter the world. Of course, the eladrin of that spire are not allies of the Quori, but that is a problem one can overcome Wink [This is actually not a bad idea for a long story arch... now if only I had the time to run all the campaigns I want too.]

Could you indicate on which page in the ECG it says so please?

I don't think it's gotten either easier or harder to access Thelanis;  the fey spires are stuck on Eberron, and no one really knows why.  As far as I know, the eladrin and gnomes living in the spires can return to the Feywild just fine,  but they would have to abandon their homes to do so.

Oh ! now I understand. Huge misread on my part, I thought Thelanis, as a whole, was stuck in a remote position in addition to the feyspires ripping themselves from the plane aka stuck on Eberron.

Speculations on how this happened?

What an absolutely brillant idea. I'm running a campaign that has the Dreaming Dark as main villains and was having trouble coming up with a motive for the Mourning other than just "let's blow stuff up". Thanks for the inspiration.

A few sources have suggested that the Dreaming Dark was taken by surprise, or at least dismayed by the Mourning, because it brought an end to to the Last War.  There hope was that it would continue until all of the 5 Nations were so weakened that they could simply come and 'save the day' like they did in Sarlona, and their goal is now to restart the war if possible towards that eventual end.

Of course, A) setting details are always mutable to the needs of the camaign and plot, and B) perhaps the Dark did have responsibility for the Mourning, and either didn't anticipate it would end the Last War or figured that their other objective related to unleashing the Mourning (whatever those might be) were more important that they would accept the end of possiblities as a possible consequence.

Regarding access to Thelanis, I always did wonder why the Eladrin wouldn't simply head on over to the Eldeen Reaches and slip back into their homeplane through the manifest zones over there.  Of course, the journey would be dangerous and they would be leaving their cool homes behind...

Tangent: I was disappointed to see so little information on Thelanis in the ECG; the 'Dreaming Dark' trilogy gave lots of interesting details on aspects of Thelanis that really brought it to life which could at least have been hinted at in the ECG.

Leaving your house is not an easy choice, especially if you next to nothing of where you are and where you need to go. Not to mention that Thelanis is not a save place. You might not have the time to rebuild you city fortresses. Besides, either the eladrin are not having much problems (Eldeen Reeches, Zilargo, to a lesser extend Karrnath), need to get through extremely hostile territory (Darguun) or have more chance to wreak havoc on the world that abandoned them they have had in ages (Lhazaar Principalities).
