First let me say I apologize for posting this here because I wasn't sure where I'd post this on this site. But could someone tell if there is a difference between the PC games of Stormreach and Eberron Unlimited. I'd greatly appreciate it. And again if this is posted in the wrong place, sorry.
I heard a while back that DDO: Stormreach was going off a subscription model. Eberron Unlimited is probably just what they named the non-subscription DDO:Stormreach
Yeah, the game has been relaunched as Eberron Unlimited. No more subscription, just free-to-play, and pay for "add-ons" in the game.
okay, just making sure I understand this right. So if I wanted to play the game, I could just buy Stormreach and it would be the same as playing Eberron Unlimited. THanks for answering. I greatly appreciate it.
i wouldn't buy it, since its free to download.
Following this post I've started playing Eberron Unlimited, and it's pretty cool. I just finished the last quest of the starting area, and it's really awesome to see iconic DnD monsters fully rendered in 3d. There's even a bugbear on the docks of Stormreach to teach you fighter abilities, and it's really cool to see a bugbear standing there in front of you, breathing slowly, hunched over. (Plus, it's awesome that the bugbear isn't just a random mob, but an NPC, like it should be in Eberron.) Also, seeing the warforged standing and walking around is quite a sight, and it gives you a really great impression for how intimidating these guys would be to normal people.
Some of the scenery is a bit flashy, like the Leaky Dhingy being a floating tavern more appropriate to Sharn than a rickety shack on the edge of a dock, but I recognize that it's just to make the game more visually interesting.
It's also really interesting to come at the game having read City of Stormreach first. Like seeing the Emperor too-scale for the first time after only hearing it be described. Then there's the differences, like the aformentioned Leaky Dhingy, which the book suggests is about to fall over and is only held together with vim and spite (plus there's no mention of it floating in mid-air above the harbor). It was a very different visual than the one I had in my head from reading the sourcebook.
There's also an in-game explaination why the Silver Flame priests are the ones that you speak to for ressurection, which you'd only find out if you bothered to question why House Jorasco wasn't doing it: Jorsaco halflings ARE raising you, but the Silver Flame priests are the ones that go out into dangerous territory, go find your soulstone, and bring that back to the halflings.
For the uninitiated, it's "Religious guy raises me from the dead. Right", but for people who know Eberron and know that's against the tone of the setting, there is an explaination that makes it right. I found that nifty. I wonder if the text explaining it was even there when the game first started, or if they added it after Eberron fans complained. Regardless, I'm glad it's there, because it makes it feel more authenticly Eberron to me.
I can't wait to get to the quests written by Keith Baker.

As far as I remember, that voice is actually none other than mr Gygax. At least for the quests they made in the beginning. Just thought you might want to know.

I was surprised to learn that in Stormreach (unlike post treaty of Thronehold , Khorvaire) one can still pay to get a Warforged (its a payed class 
) .
Didn't get far yet, but I did learn the right pronunciation of the word Sahuagin.
I'll try and get to the city itself, it will be a good 'research' as I plan to get my group to Stormreach for their paragon tier.
I knew Mr. Gygax did the DM voice, but I thought it was only for some specific quests later in the game. If the starting DM is him, he had a great Dungeon Mastering voice. Rest his soul.
Might I add, best voice ever. Made the one month I played DDO totally worth the $20 Australian I paid for a subscription :D (back before it was free).
Can someone clarify how you're supposed to earn Turbine points if you're a cheapskate and don't want to buy them?
My character is supposed to be blind, but apparently the only blindfold item in the game is a quest reward for a premium adventure...
Apparently you earn points by raising your favor with certain patrons. There's an example of such a thing in Korthos; after doing the after-hours tavern quest, you speak to the general vendor and you get 50 points for the DDO Store.
I just left Korthos and have yet to explore Stormreach, but I'm guessing there's more opportunities like that there.

Gygax DM the Delara's Tomb module. And on the graveyard area (inside House Jorasco) you can find a memorial to him.
City of Stormreach was published almost 2 years after DDO was launch. DDO Stormreach map was the first "official" mapping of that city, and i loved how WotC maintaned a lot of NPCs names that is in the game, like Harbormaster Zin, Three-Fingered Thad, Baundry Cartamon, Berringan Edge, Lord Gerald Goodblade (not in the game anymore, he was the second NPC old players meet when come to Stormreach), and every single named area.
Mod 9 bring to the game some NPCs that where only in the book too, like Lord Yorrick Amanatu (The Sharn Inquisitives series).
And if anyone is interessed in a light roleplay guild, search for the guild Rest in Pieces, on Sarlona.

I only know he did the Delera's Catacombs (or some other tomb adventure). I think most of the other dungeons are voiced by someone else, and later they did have a female cast too.
The fact that it only models some of your equipment and that in a highly generic fashion is kind of lame, I think...
