| #2joni-sanMay 25, 2008 22:39:15 | I'd love to see a wellmade Eberron CRPG. Ideally Keith (or possibly one of the other devs) would be involved in creating the story (and checking for possible errors...). For extra fanboy points the original Fallout team (Tim Cain, Leonard Boyarsky, Chris Avellone and Christopher Taylor and the others) as they would try to retain a PnP feel (and stay true to the rules). -Joni |
| #3revvecorMay 26, 2008 19:54:38 | I think it could be interesting depending on its features and whether its single-player, multi-player or both. |
| #4AlasMay 27, 2008 10:48:14 | I've been waiting years for my Planescape: Torment sequel. If they made something like that for a Sharn inquisitive character? I'd be very, very happy. Oooh-- the inquisitive could be a changeling, with an "inventory" of disguises for accessing different NPCs. Aside from all the layers of Sharn, the story could also make side trips to other ports, like Stormreach and Vralkek (must unlock hobgoblin disguise first). People can dream, can't they? (Well, unless they're kalashtar...) |
| #5bossemeyerMay 27, 2008 12:27:15 | I would kill for a GOOD Computer RPG of Eberron... D&DOnline isn't what i want as that game is so far from Eberron in my view... I have never been a Fan of Forgotten Realms but i do enjoy the NWN Games and i would think an Eberron verson would be great if they keep well to the story... |
| #6ieattrollsforbreakfastMay 27, 2008 13:59:10 | ...is an epic Eberron CRPG using 4E rules. I approve this message. And what we need is a game that really shows off Eberron's fluff: that's a focus on Khorvaire, the Five Nations, the Last War, the Mournland, the Dragonmarked Houses. Dragonshard was disappointing in that regard. |

It's like you can reach into my mind and describe my ideal computer game. I wonder if it would make any money, though. |

| #9naturaxMay 27, 2008 16:21:24 | i agree with this that would be wonderfull! I think a community effort to actually build the thing will see way better results than trying to convince WotC to do it (because it'll come down to profit). We need an open source game engine similar to what Planescape: Torment used (I hear that Witcher was built on the same engine as NWN so maybe we can get access to that instead) and tonnes of people to do things like model characters and environments, write plot and dialogue, tonnes of scripting, and then more testing than you can possibly imagine. |
| #10EdymnionMay 31, 2008 13:25:09 | Well, considering 4e was apparently made specifically to feel like a computer game/mmorpg, it should be exceedingly easy to turn into one. None of those niggle little details of the PCs being able to do anything they want anymore, you've just got a set of powers that do specific things in specific ways. 4e is far more computer game friendly than 3e was, so expect to see lots of video games of it. |

And subscribing to DDI gives you access to an MMORPG more or less. Maps, monsters, lobby to find party members, and your own personal mini to use so you can run an adventure. |

| #13lord_karsusJun 02, 2008 0:56:18 | -Doesn't Eberron already have a MMORPG? Isn't that Stormreach? Or, was that perhaps General D&D, and not Eberron? |
| #14EdymnionJun 02, 2008 8:26:04 | -Doesn't Eberron already have a MMORPG? Isn't that Stormreach? Or, was that perhaps General D&D, and not Eberron? We don't speak of DDO here. It didn't happen. |
| #15kalanthJun 02, 2008 8:37:52 | We don't speak of DDO here. It didn't happen. Funny thing is that I have been playing DDO since beta and still enjoying the game. They do a good job with Eberron like stories if you take the time to stop and read them. But, as a definitive Eberron game it is not what I would like to see. A game with the rich story, maybe in the guise of the old SSI games, with multiple endings. To much hack-n-slash in NWN, but that engine would be a good one if coupled with a mix of intrege and combat. |
| #16lord_karsusJun 02, 2008 10:37:05 | We don't speak of DDO here. It didn't happen. -I already knew that...It was Eberron, though, correct? I don't even remember... ![]() |
| #17ieattrollsforbreakfastJun 02, 2008 10:51:48 | -I already knew that...It was Eberron, though, correct? I don't even remember... Yes, it's Eberron. Trouble is, it's set in Stormreach, which means it ignores all the delicious fluff attached to Khorvaire. Coupled with the fact that, as an MMO, it can't have a storyline that progresses as you play, it isn't really a good way to show off Eberron's potential. |
| #18skrap-sanJun 02, 2008 12:17:23 | There is also the Dungeons and Dragon - Dragonshard game, a RTS game based on Eberron and Xen'Drik. It has some cool elements, but if you are a hardcore RTS gamer it might be more annoying than fun... |

It would be nices if they made a RTS that has to do with the five nations or the races. i also did not real like that it was in Xen'drik. You real do not get the Eberron feel about it. they could make one where they are fighting in the last war or something. |
| #20kaodiJun 02, 2008 20:20:43 | As much as I would like a massive, single-player Eberron CRPG, with the advent of the new, cleaned up Forgotten Realms I imagine we will just be getting more offerings from that setting. Unfortunate, it is. I do not think it will be more than a year or two before we see something like Neverwinter Nights 3 announced. Though perhaps they might give it a new name, depending on what Neverwinter looks like in the 4e setting... |
| #21Arcane_GuyverJun 02, 2008 22:08:29 | Ideally, the main game would play out a bit like KotOR, but once combat starts, the perspective shifts radically, so it looks a bit more like D&D Tactics. Thing is, 4e seems *slightly* easier to make a video game out of. Slightly. I think if 3e had stuck around longer, someone would've eventually figured out how to make a game based off it that is both accurate and fun. They came pretty damn close with Tactics...they just took some questionable liberties with the mechanics. All druids have a pet dog and absolutely no shapeshifting! ![]() |
| #22ArdegrathJun 03, 2008 11:34:58 | I would love a Computer RPG of Eberron too!! It would be great if it was like baldur's gate!! or a type of third person adventure game, a la tomb raider but with music and completely customizable character, hmm sounding more like fable now :P. Maybe a mix between fable and tomb raider. It would be awesome to have a dual wand wielding house cannith artificer searching for lost treasures in xendrix, while her ex-professor buddy tries to steal them before she gets them for the wayfinders. Lots of stuff can be done. |
| #23skrap-sanJun 04, 2008 5:36:24 | If we should be so lucky as to get a Eberron game I would prefer that it was set on Khorvaire mostly. So that we could get some love for that continent too. |
