| #1dieffenbachjJan 24, 2010 13:36:10 | I've glanced through my books and searched interwebs/forums and I just realized... probably easier just to ask here: The names of the coins were galifars, sovereigns, crowns, and... what, dragons? Platinum dragons? Something? Anyone know where this is from? And following that same system, anyone have a good word starting with A or D for astral diamonds? =P |

Unless they are actually "minted" - carved to a particular standard by a particular culture - I'd just call them astral diamonds. The names above are specifically supposed to be the names of the standardized Galifar coinage. |

I can't come up with something at the moment, and since I'm going to try to keep my 4e Eberron as close to 3.5 as I can, I'd probably just flavor them as extremely pure Siberys Dragonshards before I'd introduce a new currency into the setting. Good luck though, happy gaming. |

Nice idea! I may just use that myself. As a side note, while I don't think it ended up making it into the 4E ECG, I say that "residuum" is simply a term for highly processed and refined Eberron dragonshards, thus maintaining the original concept that dragonshards are the fundamental underlying fuel of the magical economy. As a result, you may occasionally see me mention "residuum-grade dragonshards". And yes, turning magic items into residuum still makes sense, because the idea is that you need to use dragonshards to make things - when you harvest residuum, you're just pulling that basic essence out. |

Yeah that never made it to the ECG, I think this house rule exists only in peoples worlds because you occasionally mention it on the forums =P |

The incredible value they possess and apparent semi-magical nature suggests to me that people would think of the god of magic. Of course, a name based on Kol Korran or the Keeper would also be quite appropriate. |

| #9AvonRekaesJan 25, 2010 11:02:00 | For my campaign, I'd probably go with the "incredibly pure Siberys Shards", since the Astral Sea is called the "Sea of Siberys" in Eberron. |
