#1 Cyber-Dave Feb 18, 2009 11:18:24	...the city described in Dragon 163's article on Suderham. Seems like a neat city to run an adventure in, but I am wondering what city in Eberron would be closest to Suderham.

Darguun is the goblinoid kingdom ruled by Llesh Haruuc, carved from formerly Cyran lands, and found West of Breland and Zilargo. You are crossing/combining it with Droaam. Darguun isn't "anti-outsider" exactly, but it is a nation of goblinoids. Penants marking your caravan as protected by the Llesh aren't a bad idea (and are cited in the ECS, if I recall correctly), but even these aren't foolproof. Not every resident of Darguun holds him/herself a subject of Llesh Haruuc. There's plenty I could say, but I'll limit it to these few things: 1) Darguun is plenty civilized to serve your purposes. 2) Darguun was featured in The Shadows of the Last War, the first published adventure for 3.5E Eberron, where it served as a civilized-yet-dangerous launch point for an trek elsewhere. 3) You should really check out Don Bassingthwaite's novels. His most recent is set in Darguun, and should really be read only after finishing his first trilogy. He's an excellent writer, and I'm sure you'd enjoy his work.
#5 Cyber-Dave Feb 18, 2009 16:29:03	Ah, yes, sorry, I was getting stuff mixed up. The hobgoblins are all about slavery from what I remember though, correct? I think this part of the world may indeed be perfect for my needs... As for the picking up books, really no time this year. Too much reading is required for my MA as is.
