Who is your favourite Dragon of Eberron?

Pretty much what it says on the tin. Who is your favourite Eberronian Dragon? Yllosavax the Chamber agent,  manipulator of wizards? Poor demented Haze-of-Death? The mighty Zenobaal a.k.a. Prophecy incarnate? Ketheptis the Silver Crone, bane of the Drow? The star-crossed lovers Vyssilthar and Qataakhast? The Keeper(Dracolich, I know, but I think he/she should count) ?The majestic Rashaak, tainted but still faithful to his duty and wouLd-be deity? Someone else?

Personally I find it really hard to choose. Probably someone among Vyssilthar, Rashaak or Ketheptis. What about you?

Zenobaal, hands down. That Silver dragon gives the absolute shivers (as I've stated in the past). Seriously, I don't think I've come across a more dangerous and implacable foe as the Prophecy Incarnate. Very old, very powerful, quite possibly insane (but exhibiting a sanity that defies all reason). And perhaps someone who has achieved/transcended their mortal understanding of the world/Draconic Prophecy. Whatever it was that Zenobaal saw, it drove the once paragon of draconic might and virtue towards the current path he walks.

Yup, just thinking about it, I need to go put on my brown tousers...

That fat green dragon of Xen'drik LOL

I never thought I would think funny of a dragon until I saw his pic Laughing

My name should give it away. Or does he not count?

Dah'mir was too cool though (the villain from the Dragon Below trilogy, for those not in-the-know).

I realize that this might be blasphemy, but the only named dragon I have used in my Eberron so far is the one(s) found in the "Eyes of the Lich Queen" module. I would not be opposed to using another, but would most likely create my own...

Tough call for me, being a fan of both Rhashaak and Vvaraak since they were a twinkle in my typing fingers. But I'll have to go with the Bane of Thrane - Sarmondelaryx.

Oh really, Keith? I don't know much about that dragon... like, what she's been up to for the last decade or so, or if she was ever imprisoned in a khyber dragonshard...

Care to enlighten us? :P

Right now, I'd have to put my money on Zamiel from the Heirs of Ash trilogy. As for Sarmondelaryx - not sure about that. The Dragon part just lacks some more depth (for me), as of now. Maybe part 3 will change that.

I wouldn't expect you to be. *I* know all about Sar and her history, which is why I like her; for ME, she's the most deeply developed of the dragons of Eberron. Assuming you've read my novels, you've still only seen her in scattered dreams and flashbacks.

The OP's question, after all, wasn't about picking a dragon that is the best for everyone - it was asking you to name YOUR favorite. Sarmondelaryx is mine.

Hey, that's unfair advantage. I really need those mind-reading spells from 3.5e, and I needed them last july so i could have extracted ALL you know... Would come in handy for our new Cyre-based campaign as well. (the hobgoblin one died :-( )

I love the Chamber as a whole, but I am less certain on individual dragons. I have never yet run an Eberron campaign to the level that the dragons got involved even indirectly, nor have I played in a campaign that directly involved dragons so I never paid individuals that much attention. I think it is Zenobaal, if that is the dragon who is considered insane due to prophecy study. It just sits very well with my own ideas on prophecies ;)

You sure, you might not have met a dragon yet but they could well be behind a lot of stuff currently :P

For me it would either be Vvraak, just really digging the Gatekeeper Lore currently or Dahmir, both are directly to blame on a certain author Laughing

My favorite is Rhashaak. Like a crooked and sadistic prison warden. Driven mad and corrupted by the very demons he was bound to gaurd.

I very much want to run a campaign where he enlists the aid of the PCs where he tells them the prison is weakening and that they must collect certain items and initiate/prevent certain events in order to keep it from doing so.  All the while, they're actually working to release the overlord he's gaurding, who has promised the dragon great power and a life free of servitude.

I would play with the type of dragon though.  Even in Eberron, I see a lot more players being suspicious of a chromatic dragon (particularly a black dragon) compared to others (like a gold or silver).  Or maybe that's what they think I want them to think...  I'd likely use the breed that my players or their characters find most appealing.

Which is why I said, that as a player I never got involved directly with a dragon. I cannot read the mind of the DM, so unless the dragon gets involved directly there is no way to know whether or not a dragon is involved, let alone which one ;)
