Whom do Dragons worship?

Jun 04, 2008 6:16:58 I'm considering a rehash of the Red Hand of Doom module with a focus on the Dragon Below/Aberrations/Daelkyr/etc as the primary Villain Soup.
I was wondering whether it's likely that there are Dragons which might follow this dark path and who, if anyone, the Dragons DO worship?

Jun 04, 2008 6:23:41 this is mildly ironic but the dragons worship the normal dragon gods, so red hand of doom works with Tiamat. I could also see it working easily with worshiping any of the three progenitor wyrms

Jun 04, 2008 10:23:10 The dragons follow a religion known as Thir, detailed in Dragons of Eberron. Essentially, they believe in their own pantheon of dragon gods (Io, Bahamut, Lendys, Chronepsis, Garyx etc.) and pay their respects to Tiamat as well, who in Eberron is a particularly nasty rajah bound in Argonessen. The constellations (detailed at the start of the Life in the World chapter of the ECS) are named after the dragon gods.
Draconic followers of Tiamat, the Talons are Tiamat, are those who have been corrupted by her influence.

If you plan to make tweaks to Red Hand of Doom, Dragons of Eberron might be worth the purchase. You might be able to get some newer and fresher ideas from there. On the other hand, your own ideas, whatever they might be, could conflict with what's presented in DoE.

Jun 05, 2008 0:01:48 Dragon's also hold the belief (or at least some do) that if you do enough divine-type stuff and amass enough power you can ascend as a deity and "replace" one of the current draconic deities. Many dragons aspire to this goal (since it's guaranteed immortality as opposed to slumming it in Dolurrh), but few if any ever achieve it (think Dragon Ascendant prestige class from Draconomicon 3.5e).
