I always wondered why there was absolutely no worship of Syberis. There's the Cult of the Dragon Below, Druids are basically "clerics" of Eberron, since it's the land itself, but no one draws power from the Dragon Above. Sorry that I can't answer your question though.

I know what you mean, you have the aberrant dragonmarks with the Cult of the Dragon of Below that is know (but not alot of worshipers like the Silver Flame). But we have the Ture dragonmarks but the Siberite Cult is not know at all.

I don't remember the threads name but there was one awhile back that someone had mad were the Kobolds in the Endworld mountains that worshiped Syberis and took the dragon disciple class to further embrace their draconic nature.

You are correct, I was rereading the Draganomician (sp?) book and typed in the wrong class. I think that the only people who would become a Dragon Disciple would be the tribes from the Seren Island.

maybe the reason why we dont hear that much about sibirius worshipping cults might be, that siberius is dead?
of course you could still worship it and gain powers from your worship. However unless you are a pc or simerilary you would have a harder time than most clerics

This Dragonshard article introduces the idea of irsvern kobolds who claim descent from the Dragon Above.

If Khyber draws cults, and Eberron is associated with druids, I rather like the thought of Siberys devotees as esoteric astrologer/priests. Maybe not outright worshippers... more like apologists (if you know the older meaning of the word).

I aggree wit your statement, but I would approach the topic from another point of view.

The idea/belief in a force greater then yourself gives you faith and confidence if you have low confidence or self worth. By this I mean that if a creature finds he has a knack for magic and trys to find a reason for for this innate magical ability because he thinks "It couldn't be my own power developed from within myself. It must be a gift from a great god". So after talking to others and researching the history of magic he comes across the legend of Syberis, Eberron, and Khyber. He now knows that the god who blessed him with this power is Syberis, even though he may be dead his force of will and power still blesses the faithful to this day.

This is my two coppers and is probably not how others on the boards would approach it.

well they do say someing about it in Dragonmarked but it is just said when they are talking about a person. with the magic thing is that they could be magic in the rings so they can use that power and they see it as the gift form the Great dragon

Isn't there something in the cleric section of the ECS that suggests that a cleric that doesn't worship a specific faith can still draw power from the Dragon Above (and select two domains to reflect their personal faith?)

Well, hmm....

I like the idea that Siberys might be worshiped by astrologers and the like. Don't dragons do something similar, as described in Dragons of Eberron? I don't have the book in front of me to check on that. I could also see some Syranians at least respecting Siberys - although not the creator of their realm, as one of the defenders of the Material Realm he might fit well into their system of beliefs.

Don't remember the source, but I recall that people worshipping angels and the likes are called a radiant cult. Would this not carry over to the worship of the dragon above too?

The radiant cults are centered on fallen angels (called radiant idols) from Syrania who tend to congregate around Syranian manifest zones such as Sharn. Thus it's actually a far different phenomenon than worship of Syberis, since the radiant cultists are worshipping an actual living being (god to them), which is unusual in Eberron.
