The human is the male, the dragonborn is the female -- named Nala, although she is nicknamed Chastity. Again, it's adult since the female was taken in an enemy raid during the Last War and was not heard from since. However, rumors arrived in town that she might be in Sharn. The boy, named Richard, choses to investigate. Although in special training for 14 years (he apprenticed to a Kalashtar Psion while still working the family winery -- the psion would teach him at the Winery), he spent three of those years gathering everything he needed to make the trip to Sharn. On the day that he left, the local Charismatic Adventurer -- Lord Roxton -- had a big send off for his quest to find more Brelish in Karrnath. Lord Roxon is a Wildhunt shifter, but not just any shifter, one who has unlocked his full potential and can change into a full blown Crinos Werewolf. Besides that, Roxton has an in with all the ladies. Richard is sent off by his family and friends and the Dragonborn family. His quest, to bring Nala home at any cost. Richard is a Psionic Shaper. The Kalashtar he apprenticed with told him the secrets of the Law of Attraction, and taught him how to vibrate forcefully and strongly. When Richard was ready, his Kalashtar teacher taught him how to manifest things from the ether (i.e. psionic minor creation). Such things always turn up when least expected but sometimes he goes full bore and they would manifest right in his hands. Lord Roxton is, well to put it nicely, an unarmed fighter. He looks like he has congenital generalized hypertrichosis (all shifters do, normally). He can change willfully from shifter to fullblown werewolf with slavering jaws and an aura of fear, dread, or raw desire. He fought for Breland during the Last War, and he retired from the Army to become an adventurer and an explorer. He is based on Lord Roxton from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World. Unlike the Lord Roxton in the book, however, this Lord Roxton likes a good fist fight and is an expert Puglist. He was knighted and granted the title "Lord" by King Boranel on the spot after a battle where he, the King, and Third were protecting the King from an entire regiment of Cyran soldiers. Lord Roxton changed into his werewolf form and tore up fully half of the regiment. Nala was captured by Aundarian forces, carefully taught to be an exotic courtesan, and eventually sold to a Dragoneyes casino. For three years, she traded places with a changeling friend named Shug who would take her appearance and sleep with the men or women who patronized the casino and asked for their services. The partnership worked perfectly. Nala wanted to save her virginity because she wanted to lose it in the right way, the right setting, to the person she desired to be with. Unfortunately, the casino owner found out and decided to sell Nala like a common house slave for not being a proper Courtesan. Heart of Steel, son of Kalatarth. A Warforged with a psychic dragonshard embedded in his body. Commissioned by Kalatarth (and built by Merrix d'Cannith), Heart of Steel is a Psychic Warrior who fought in the Last War not for Breland's cause but for the Kalashtar atavists. Unable to become an Atavist on his own because he doesn't have a link to the Latarth Quori, he is looking for a way to join the Atavists. The first chapter is already written (and posted on a different site than FanFiction.com). |
