1350 Realms + 4th Edition...

Was toying with ideas for early realms campaign with current ruleset.

So 4th ed characters running through the events of the Moonshae novels (Darkwalker etc) or the Bloodstone modules with Vaasa vs Damara.

I figured some 4th ed races could be worked in, such as tieflings in damara, goliath in the vaasa mountain rangers, or shifters in moonshaes and the north. As long as their is not heaps of them then it shouldn't disrupt the style.

Was thinking - infernal warlocks of damara vs tribal shamans and barbarians of thar and damara

Why bother you ask?

Well the PCs could get to go through a great series of events and make them their own.

Many players came into the realms after the SSI games and their novel/module counterparts so their is a wealth of events and areas and ideas to be used.

Well, Narfell has always had a history of demonbinding and dealing with the powers of the malevolent planes. Perhaps Tieflings might have emerged there and migrated to Damara and Vaasa over the centuries? Shifters work well anywhere with lycanthropes. If I remember, there have always been at least a few lycanthropes on Moray in the Moonshae Isles. Perhaps the Shifters are especially prominent there, and have some sort of stronghold?

Regarding the X vs Y scenario, maybe the infernal warlocks hail from Vaasa? That land has a darker history than Damara, if I recall, and it might accentuate the tension between the two lands.

Aug 16, 2009 0:07:42 -Plenty of people have mentioned rejecting the 1,479 DR era, but using the 4e rules set in other times. So, that's fine.

-Looking at races, I think that both the Tieflings and Goliath fit. The Goliath especially fit in well with the nomadic tendencies of the Humans of the region, and, of course, Narfell is synonymous with Demons.

Shifters could also be "People of the Black Blood" followers of Malar. Have your PC's think, finally we met friends while out in the wilderness adventuring. A safe place to rest, and whamo they want to hunt your PC's.

Make Spellscars from when Tyche was split in two. Good Spellscars are from Tymora, and the bad ones are from Beshaba. Just a thought on how to reflavor them.

The Chosen make as PC's not that "Elite Solo Artillery" stuff, give them the Chosen Epic Destiny.:D
