#1 Guest1790093391 Jan 21, 2014 7:38:31	I'm hoping someone can help me with this.   I'm looking to expand my Forgotten Realms 2nd Edition Campaign Setting box set (the 1993 version.) The box came with 4 maps, (2 that show all of Faerun, and 2 that show a close up of The Heartlands.) Were there ever any accessories or modules that were released for 2nd Edition that added onto those Heartlands maps like they did with 1st Edition? I have a good chunk of the FR series accessories, but those maps are more for the 1st Edition box set (I know because I own both box sets.) They must have. Forgotten Realms was the default setting for 2nd Edition.   I know there was a box set called The North. Did that add Waterdeep and the Spine of the World to those Heartland maps? (I have FR1 - Waterdeep and the North, but that map is 1st Edition.)   If anyone can help, that would be great. I've tried using Google, but it leads to dead ends .... or worse ...... Ravenloft!
#2 Stigger Jan 22, 2014 1:39:44	Yeah, quite a bit actually.  The Forgotten Realms Atlas would be a good start, which might be available from somewhere like Amazon for a relatively reasonable price, and the Forgotten Realms Interactive Atlas would be a good find, though I've heard they aren't easy to find and tend to be pretty pricey.  The Forgotten Realms Adventures book didn't really expand the maps per se, but it did include a lot of city maps for a lot of the locales mentioned in the Heartlands maps, and a few more to boot.  The Cormyr expansion did precisely that when it comes to the map, as did most of the regional sourcebooks for 2e, though I don't recall many covering the Heartlands.  The Volo's Guides to various locales are also a good source, though you'd probably have to add in additions 'by hand' as it were, and do a bit of detective work figuring out exactly where to put them, but they are awesome and well worth the price.  The North did indeed include a map, and a pretty good one at that, so I'd say it was worth picking up if you can find it and the price is reasonable.  PDF copies might be worth it too if you don't mind using a printer for them.  Good luck!

Cormyr had one, as did The Vilhon Reach, the City of Splendors boxed set had several maps, The North boxed set certainly did, I seem to recall the Moonsea having one, and I'm pretty sure the Shining South did as well.  Lands of Intrigue did too.  I know I'm forgetting a few, but those are the ones off the top of my head.  Now keep in mind that I don't really recall them all being exactly to the same scale, and not all of them blend that well together into a greater whole, though all of them were definitely CC/CC2 style maps.  Different cartographers and all that I suppose.   Ideally though, the Forgotten Realms Interactive Atlas would be the perfect tool for you by the sound of it, if you don't mind printing a lot, since it covers the entire planet of Abeir-Toril, with varying levels of detail as you traverse the various regional maps, and it has the benefit of having a lot of the Volo's Guides stuff incorporated into it if you grab the three updates that are available for it, and best of all, for you anyway, it lets you print out maps across multiple sheets with a user-defined amount of overlap on each sheet.  It also allowed the saving of the maps into other graphic formats, which could then be turned into .pdf files and possibly taken to a professional printer and turned into the sort of thing you might be interested in, though that does sound a bit expensive to me.  Ah well, just some thoughts on alternate routes really, given that some of the maps I've come across in the second-hand market can be a little... questionable... in their quality.

#6 Stigger Feb 10, 2014 13:51:37	No problem.  Good luck finding them, at least in acceptable condition.  As to the price, I've seen a few in the FLGS and the like that weren't too outrageous, a few even at cover price, largely because the box was in crap condition, but everything inside was near mint, so who knows, you might get lucky with a few of them.  Hope it works out for you though.
