[3D Art] Lost River - Downloaded from the Wizards Community, all coding removed by Solauren

#1 Silverblade_The_Enchanter Dec 17, 2008 3:15:38	From the journal scrolls of N'mabo the Elder, Master Boatman, explorer and trader. "We found the lost river on the anniverary of my first wife! Ah, I miss her cooking, but not her tongue, I am though, missing the sweet body of my third wife on this long voyage, but she doesn't like crocodiles much. My long suspicions of a hidden tributory river proved true, but it fed into the river from an underwater passage, which is why I could never find the blasted thing. The sorceror who leads this group had an ancient map of bronze tablets, and using the sorceror's magic, we flew over the cliff that seperated these rivers. It was not a tributory, but a massive river all of it's own! It's deep in a winding canyon of massive cliffs. many strange and terrible beasts are here, some familiar, but larger than usual as well. I have seen dragonflies long as aman's arm, but not as long AS a man, before! Oddly, we came across a hut and canoe, long abandoned...which is strange, surely floods would have swept the canoe away? We have seen no other sign of people, as yet. We continue on...."
#2 Bluenose Dec 17, 2008 7:44:27	This is terrific. The boat, the sky, the cliffs, the waterfall and especially the water look absolutely wonderful. It's inspired a campaign idea in me, and that's not something which happens often. I do actually have a couple of criticisms. The man under the shade of the boat's canopy doesn't really look right. In the shade, with dark skin, and with a helmet on you can't make out the head at all, and it almost looks like a helmet is sat above his shoulders with nothing inside. The other thing that doesn't look quite right is the area where the boat sits in the water. Apart from around the bow there's no sign of water displacement Even if the boat is still the water isn't and there should be some visible difference in the wake and in the level of the water against the sides. I really don't think there's anything else I can criticise about this. It looks absolutely terrific in every other way. And I'm really happy to see Meganeura Monyi has survived, even if the two in the picture are probably going to be lunch for the pteranodons.

#4 Silverblade_The_Enchanter Dec 17, 2008 11:08:20	Markustay, thanks! ah, she's a ranger, animal empathy n' all that, and who's to say one isn't her companion? ;) Bluenose, Cheers! actually there is, just not much, remember, it's not a power boat ;) Well it is powered by magic (old guy is a mystic, boat is part magic-powered, hence no need for sail except in emergency), but no need for power when yer going down river, so, not much wake :D mystic, as in non-kick-ass player style class who can use some magic, but doesn't fit into the normal rules ;)
#5 panics Dec 17, 2008 15:28:16	really great... I think it would be wonderful to "recreate" FR environnements as 3D images. A country landscape could bring so much vision. Sadly, i'm not the best at drawing so have to use Earth place as comparisons ! Continue the good job.
