I'm setting up a home game (3.5) set in Unther, in about 1372, and I'm having a hard time finding a lot of details about Unther during that time frame. Can anyone help point me in the right direction, or give me a brief description about some of the following?
- Gilgeam was killed by Tiamat in 1358, during the Time of Troubles. What became of the rest of the Untheric gods? (For that matter, is there any source I can look to for more details on those gods -- names, portfolios?)
- Is there any 3E/3.5 sourcebook that contains more details on Unther, beyond the couple of pages in the 3E FRCS book?

One of the Last printed Dragon Magazines #358 had an article on Unther.
Faiths and Pantheons should have information on those deities.
I believe that Assur changed to Hoar and entered the pantheon of Faerun. Marduk, in actuality Bahamut, is still around as is Tiamat. The others are either gone or dead and Zigguraxus disappeared before the spellplague. What happened to it during the spellplague is up in the air.
If you use third edition the feat Servant of the fallen will allow clerics to still worship and gain spells from dead deities.
In fourth edition, I believe a character could become a cleric or paladin of a dead deity if invested with the power by an active cleric. With invokers and avengers, I believe one (both?) has the power directly invested by the deity and thus it would not be possible. Multiclassing into a divine class kind of breaks these rules by bypassing the normal requirements so that might still be possible. For example, after finding some ancient texts, someone multiclasses into cleric and then after becoming strong enough (paragon path?) the m/c cleric could conceivably ordain new priests. I think that would technically fit the rules. Advancing from paragon to demigod could be a path to a cleric burgeoning into the rebirth of a dead deity.

3e info about the surviving Untheric gods (only Hoar and Tiamat) can be found in Faiths and Pantheons. FRCS also has very brief info (porfolios). However, 2e Powers and Pantheons is better than 3e sources, having more detail about them (plus the Citadel of Black Ash and Gilgeam).
Lost Empires of Faerun is newer and has one page about Untheric tombs and ruins.
Dragons of Faerun is the best 3e source for Unther, describing the ocupation and Tiamat's church.

I almost forgot The Underdark book.
Power Of Faerun contains a brief paragraph on the course of the war in its warfare chapter, while I think AGHotR mentions several future events, regarding how Mulhorand finally conquered Unther - not that you need to go with that.
