#1 Reiiyaa Apr 12, 2015 14:50:18	I know, I know, the edition to play at the moment is DnD Next. However my party does not wish to leave 4e. Its good! For us. Also, we have no will to step out of Forgotten Realms. The reason what makes it so great is also the reason what makes it so confusing.   So my question is - what are the must have/must read source/history books and novels, that could help me build 4e Forgotten Realms Campaign that feels like FR should? (its post-spellplague)   I have a few additions on my own:   Edition-less books: Ed Greenwood Presents: Elminster's Forgotten Realms Grand History of the Realms      4e books: Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting Forgotten Realms Player's Guide Neverwinter Campaign Setting
#2 mikeypea Apr 12, 2015 19:39:40	For novels, I'd recommend The Moonshae Trilogy, The Songs & Swords series (5 books), and The Finder's Stone Trilogy. Some of them are better written than others, but together they give a good broad sense of the geography, the classes, the races, and the social-political-cultural landscape. This is, of course, all in addition to the usual recommendation of the Drizzt books. From those, i'd recommend The Icewind Dale Trilogy, The Dark Elf Trilogy, and the Neverwinter Series, since these are the ones I've read. I also hear the new series around The Sundering is very good.
