I thought I would try my hand with a 4th edition version of spellfire. This is a collection of feats that allow you to swap powers, somewhat like multiclassing but not as restrictive. This doc has two paths for a melee-like spellfire user and a standard spellfire wielder, it also has two paragon paths that reflect those options. Note: The powers use various scores for attack and damage, but the power toolkit doesnt really allow me to do that. It works the same way as the Dragonborn racial power or the spellscarred powers, bascially choose a score.

Here is the toolkit I used.

Looks pretty good. very professional looking. I like how you have the powers listed under the powerswap feat that they relate to. I didnt understand the way they did the spellcar powers. You cant get a powerswap feat until 4th level so whats the point of having 1st level spellscar powers?

Also its my understanding that spellfire is now spellscars so you might want to maybe add in a write up about how spellfire is different to spellscars and how they possibly relate to one another. The way i saw spellfire it related to the weave and with no weave now i'm not sure how i would fit spellfire in 4e Realms.

Maybe you could come and give me some pointers on some spells I've been workin on.

Yes, I believe that spellscars were created in part as an explanation of spellfire in 4e (or spellfire was roped into spellscars for explanation). The paragon path, Spellscarred Adept, has one power that is specifically related to spellfire.

There's no reason you can't make spellfire a distinct thing, also.

I would suggest a compromise: rather than build a new system from the ground up, use the spellscar feat mechanics (pretty much the direction you seem to be headed anyway), and making a whole mess of new ones specifically related to spellfire (blasts and absorbtion/counterstrike as encounter/daily powers, more healing as a utility power).
