Any word on a Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting for 5E?

How will we know what post-Sundering Realms looks like when 5E is released this summer?

I havn't heard anything on this, have any of you?

The recent 5e FR adventures probably give an idea:

Ghosts of Dragonspear Castle, Murder at Baldur's Gate, Legacy of the Crystal Shard and Scourge of the Sword coast

Just for myself, I would put the water back in the Sea of Fallen Stars.  I would fill in most of the Rifts.  I would have some Gnomes try to re-settle Lantan, for old times' sake.

Netheril struck me as being fun to face as a foe with 'overweening pride plus powerful magic', they didn't need the Shades too.

The mortal band who finally accomplished Justice for Mystra (means this year's BI "The End and the Beginning") should have a hard talk with the gods of Good; they really fell down on the job.  Stop this thing of waiting until Evil is already triumphant before realizing there is a fight to be had.

I would have Elminster and the other Chosen of Mystra - and iconic uber-powered BBEGs - leave the world for a while, or at least be stuck in place while they recover from the tumult.  Make space for new heroes to arise.  When we reach Epic levels, the old guys can resume their high-powered manipulations and make accomodations with the new powers.

I would look at who the most popular and inspiring gods are, and have them return.  Elsewhere, somebody suggested that wearing Helm's helm could make an exarch into a godling, for instance.  I myself suggested a way to restore Auppenser long ago, but he's not really that popular, so ...

The real question is, how to make the Realms feel more like the Realms, not like Release of the Fifth Edition.

I miss my namesake and for some reason Moander.

I am quite looking forward to seeing what 5e realms looks like.

I'm actually running a 'Sundering' campaign right now in Tethyr where Moander returns.    The return of old gods is what's making the Sundering so much fun for me.

I'm considering doing a one shot where Kelevmor followers hire the heroes after rumors of Myrkul's return... only for one of the "Chosen" to be a spy for the recently revived Myrkul!  So, the return of old gods is giving me wonderful ideas.

You wanna know what 5E Realms will look like? Well, boy-o, let me tell ya!

Dr. Peter Venkman: This city is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions.

Mayor: What do you mean, "biblical"?

Dr Ray Stantz: What he means is Old Testament, Mr. Mayor, real wrath of God type stuff.

Dr. Peter Venkman: Exactly.

Dr Ray Stantz: Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling!

Dr. Egon Spengler: Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes...

Winston Zeddemore: The dead rising from the grave!

Dr. Peter Venkman: Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!

Mayor: All right, all right! I get the point!
