5e FRCS, worth waiting for?

Back in 2012-2013 we heard lots and lots about the Sundering. There were panels with the authors, snippets, and the like. All of it promised the moon and beyond to us Realms fans, and it was all very encouraging.

Then the release of 5e was upon us, and naturally everyone was like, "This is great! OK so when's the Realms book coming out?"

And WotC says, "Realms book? Nah, we haven't even been thinking about a Realms book. Why, do you need one?"

Yeah, it's true that even old Ed himself was super excited about it two years ago, but has anyone heard from him since the Herald? Is there any real evidence that WotC even plans to follow through with all of that grandeur they hashed out two years ago?

Then there are the novels. We were promised a "Sundering" storyline that would show us how the multiverse re-aligned itself, how AO rewrote the Tablets of Fate and how everything was being "fixed." While I did not read them myself, I've read the summaries and it seems like instead of that we got more of the same boring and uninteresting stories about Elminster and assorted Chosen using their god-like powers to lay low any villains in their path. Great.

During the playtest, I could tweet Mearls and get a response back within days. Now my questions fall on deaf ears. Not encouraging.

So what is everyone here planning to do? Our group has considered doing a reboot and just going back to the 3rd Realms we knew and loved. But if WotC really has something good on the way, we'd hate to miss it. Anyone here still think they plan to deliver on those grandiose promises made back in 2012?

I've never moved from the Realms that I prefer, but I still want a FRCS because I love the setting (before all the end-3e drowpocalypse+4e), I want to know what it looks like after the Sundering, and with all the loved gods/lands/organizations restored I'm sure that I could find cool ideas, lore and details from Ed and others to use in my campaign and to simply enjoy. So, you don't have to hold anything and wait, you can still do what you like IYC and then incorporate what you like from the FRCS.

But I hear you, Ed has already written lore for the post-Sundering Realms, I'd love to see them talking about it, giving us something to get excited for and putting it in a CS book. After such a huge RSE, you would expect this kind of update, and yet...
