5e Starter Set question - Downloaded from the Wizards Community, all coding removed by Solauren

#1 dutch2061 Jul 17, 2014 14:42:53	The adventure in the 5e starter set is located in the Forgotten Realms. According to the Dales Reconing, what year is this adventure supposed to take place in? Since it mentions Neverwinter, I am assuming it happens some time after 1461.

The 4E campaign setting defaults to 1479 DR, and the novels seemed to be, iirc, mostly jumping us forward to around 1486 DR. EDIT: I ran across as official an answer as we are likely to see before release. A playtester said 1489 DR in another thread.

#10 joeburgos Nov 11, 2014 10:55:28	Canonnically the 3e FR Campaign Guide is set 1372. The 5e start year is technically 1489. However, I will not be adopting any of the events that occurred in 4e, so my 5e campaign is set 1373 DR, Year of the Rogue Dragons (seems apt). I have no interest in the event of the Spellplague, Sundering, et al that were introduced with 4e. As a DM I want a clean slate to tell my stories.
