Nov 12, 2008 15:54:07 Does anyone have a Post Spellplague map that I could use? I'm a fan of FR, but I haven't been able to keep up with all the novels and info on the SP and FR wiki has a very very short article. A map would be handy because I plan on making a dragonborn in my next game and I'm looking to learn as much as I can about the new Faerun.

I don't understand. There's only one map in the FRCG - and it is of Post-Spellplague Faerun. There's nothing on the back.

Then again, I think Picaso worshipped Cthulhu. :D

Nov 19, 2008 14:14:50 The Fourth Edition map harkens back to The Old Grey Box to me. Sure Third Edition spoiled me with some very nice maps, but I like mysterious maps. It has a sense of adventure to it.

Nov 19, 2008 16:26:24 Mysterious is one thing (I loved the old maps), but innacurate, murky maps that almost look like X-ray negatives are NOT conducive to a fantasy setting... except perhaps Ravenloft, or some other 'Horror' fair.

I am SURE he was told to do it that way, since he worked on the wonderful Golarion map around the same time, and it has NONE of those problems - it is the IDEAL of what a fantasy world should look like.

If I wanted a 'Satelite Photo', I could have just used Google Earth.

Nov 20, 2008 0:48:48 Same guy did the Golarion map? Damn... while I don't much care for the Golarion fluff, that is a beautiful map. Hard to believe it was the same person...

Though personally, I liked the 2e style myself. 3e's were better, but nostalgia can't be beat oftentimes. :D

Nov 20, 2008 4:40:37 i miss FR. what happen to the realm we all love to play in? 4ed good, but i can get my friend and spend a year or more traveling the realm in 2nd and you could keep your friend entertan. 3rd ed made it was easier than 2nd with the combat system, and maps looked better. and seeing the realm in 4ed i'm saded in what i see. sorry for ratting.
