Helm and Mystra being two (Mystra's death causing the Spell Plague from my understanding). But what I would want to know is that due to the Spell Plague, could some gods/goddesses/deities mayhap have come into existence/returned/born and such? And if so, would you like to create your own godly creation as a higher power to control some masses of people to do his/her/it's deeds? I know I would love one to create. |

| #3lord_of_insanityJun 22, 2009 4:12:03 | Personally, I can't really decide which is better (Since I haven't seen any books so far going into time after the Spell Plague). But I'd kinda like to seem some sort of god of chaos, madness, insanity, etc (And in the insanity/madness, maybe truth and knowledge! :D ). have broken free of a god-made prison (Like Tharizdun of regular D&D) but different. I mean, yeah, his/her/its followers would be stark raving mad, but hey. That'd mean all the insane/crazy/madness touched people would be followers! |

As for the god of time, Amaunator was the netherese god of time back in the old days...Maybe he reclaimed his portfolio when Lathander transformed into him. |

But what I would want to know is that due to the Spell Plague, could some gods/goddesses/deities mayhap have come into existence/returned/born and such? I like to create new gods and philosophies, when my players seemed to become overly familiar with the setting, I created about a hundred new gods from the old FR by mixing portfolios and adding many new ones. E.g. some of the insane ones: Nethus, is a combination of Savras and Nethys from Golarion. He was an imaskari arcanist that gained unparalleled mastery over planar magic, by seeing/sensing everything on different wavelengths. The knowledge drove him mad and granted him, unwillingly, the immortality. He dwells in the Eye, a part of Neth (the Demiplane That Lives). He's unaligned, his portfolios are divination, foresight, senses, curiosity, philosophy, clairsentience, liberation, honesty, duality, insanity, infinity. You could say that Cyric is somewhat like Tharizdun, mad and imprisoned. I also remade Cyric into Cairic, unaligned demigod of anomalies, exceptions, paranormal, wonders, rebellion, anarchy, outcasts, choice, drugs (particularly entheogens), unpredictability, madness, spite, woe. He's the current incarnation of the Anomaly, mythic force that represents exceptions to all thing, his followers are a bit mad freedom and truth seekers, in a way like the Bleakers of Planescape but with a bit more sense of purpose. Etc. There was a god of anarchy in the Realms during the times of Jhaamdath, he was killed by Tyr, now that Tyr is dead, he could return with the Spellplague. Anarchy is considered to be madness by some people so. |

| #7lord_of_insanityJul 03, 2009 4:09:58 | (Yeah yeah, was gone for a bit.) But the Ghaun man's only for Drow and subsumed by Lolth for her own perverse pleasures if my memory serves. And this would kinda be like what I'd be talking about. *Names and such is all made up. You can tear it apart and pick at it all you want.* God name: Nurg. Titles: The Unraveler, Lord of Insanity Home Plane: Unknown, but believed to be beyond the outer/far planes (Whichever it is, the farther known planes). Power level: Greater (Kinda on par with Ao, but it fluxes heavily). Alignment: Unaligned. Portfolio: Chaos, Madness, Truth, Corruption Domain: Madness Nurg was once imprisoned by nearly all the deities upon the creation of the universe and sent beyond the known planes. The prison that held Nurg shattered upon Mystra's death and the beginning of the SPell Plague. It is believed that Nurg's exposure to the energies beyond the known planes corrupted drove Nurg insane. (Think of Xoriat from Eberon. I'm thinking that Nurg's the embodiment of that plane.) Nurg appears and a frail and indescribable being wearing a hooded robe that only shows three eerie eyes. The robe seems to be a mix of colors both known and unknown. Nothing is known about or remembered of Nurg, but rumors persist that only Lord Ao knows anything about this insane deity. The followers of Nurg formed a hierarchy in congruence to the colors of the rainbow. Red robes are worn only by Nurg's Chosen One. He or she bears a mutation on his/her forehead. A working third eye. The Chosen One can directly communicate with Nurg and speaks to the lower Orange robes. Orange robes are worn by the second order, the Blind Ones. They bear a third eye, but this eye does not work and is blind. The communicate with the Red and the Yellow. Yellow robes are the third order, the Speakers of Truth. They bear a stylized topaz eye on their foreheads to symbol their rank. These eyes are branded upon their foreheads and cannot be removed. They communicate between the Orange robes and the rest of the robes, telling them what the Red and Oranges have spoken. Green robes are the fourth order, the Divine Eyes. They bear a stylized emerald eye on their foreheads. They are the divine magic users of Nurg's followers. Druid, Clerics, Paladins and such. Blue robes are the fifth order, the Arcane Eyes. They bear a stylized sapphire eye on their foreheads. They are the arcane magic users of Nurg's followers. Wizards, Sorcerers, Warlocks and such. Indigo robes the sixth order, the Physical Eyes. They bear an amethyst eye on their foreheads. They are the non-magical elements of Nurg's followers. The fighters, barbarians, rogues, soldiers and such. Violet robes are the seventh order, the Opening Eyes. They bear a tattooed eye on their foreheads. They are the tenders of the Sightless and finders of plots to unravel. The lay worshippers and common people that worship Nurg (Though only those who have fallen into a state of madness or insanity are the followers) may become acolytes. They bear a small, eye shaped scar on their forehead that can only be seen in flickered candle light. Also called the Sightless by those in the orders. As Nurg is insane and a mind filled with madness, the followers too must be insane or maddened. The followers also bear a mark of corruption upon them, be in a small mutation of their body or some sort of mutated or corrupted material, be it a branch or a rock. _________ Now like I said, this is what I've been thinking. But you all can have fun picking it apart and such. Just letting my idea out and not afraid to feel the wrath or boos for it! |
| #8arcas_shanJul 03, 2009 6:33:52 | If I would accept the FR as they are now (I don't) I would make Valaderion ( http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20050701a&page=3 ) as a revenant (but one that looks like an undead original) that got out of Kelemvor's plane during the spellplague and started a crusade against the church of Shevarash until he ascended to demi-godhood himself. He's unaligned (chaotic neutral) his portfolio consists of love, vengeance and undead.(:D ) His driving goal is to find Kiralasha's soul. And now would be perfect to bring Bhaal back.:D :D :D |
| #9lord_karsusJul 05, 2009 22:37:07 | But the Ghaun man's only for Drow and subsumed by Lolth for her own perverse pleasures if my memory serves. -Ghaunadaur was never subsumed by Lolth. She attempted, but was unable to actually do so. And, Ghaunadaur is "limited" to Drow just like any other racial deity was "limited" to any other specific race- plenty of non-Drow would worship Ghaunadaur; he's a deity of debased outcasts, and such people can exist in any society and/or race. |
