Alright, being around here for a bit, I assume that this type of thread has been posted before. But I have been gone a few months due to circumstance.

Those of you that know me also know I don't give a  ;(

But I do want to know what people think about this place.

Personally, I think the interface is greatly improved, but I also think that the look and feel of the place is gone. And I dug it how it was.

The guys that designed this layout can easily enough change the look back to the what it was. They are using style sheets, so, unless they are completely against it, they can at least give us something of the normmalcy we had.

I guess, I simply have to ask: Is it just me?

I liked it at first because it was new and shiny, but the newness is wearing off. Alot of people want to go back to the gleemax look, but if they changed it then people would be complaining that they changed it again. What they need to do is give us the option to set it up how we want. Let us decide for ourselves if we want a white background or green or perrywinkle, or what ever.

I agree completely, my man--which is why I went to check on the fact before I posted.

I may have missed something, but there is no options for "skins" in this place.

This place is too white for me. Give me fake parchment.

I am completely with LK on this one.

Laughing at him would be too painful. I'll just scowl, and hope that he didn't smite my tutrle, Spunky. He would find "smited" to be  in a whole new light then. smiley-angry026.gif

Though, I might know what he was actually talking about if these ORCS WOULD STOP STRIPPING POSTS FOR NO REASON.  smiley-angry019.gif

(sigh)

Look, Orc-type-people. Just because there are a few bad apples around here (certainly not me), doesn't mean we are all instigating and trying to fight with each other. Just 'cause I call Stigger a turd one day, doesn't mean I am trying to make him mad. No! It simply means I am telling him that he happens to stink at the moment and he needs a shower. It's all about love and caring, my good people!

I personally think all us posters and you ORCS need to sit down and have a few good rounds of group therepy. I believe that once all of us get to know each other and understand our tendencies, then everything will be alright. Okey-Dokey, so to say.

So what say you, ORCS! Ready to communicate?! Smile

I'm in the gray void in which I've gone 4E and 4E FR, but incorporated only the basic 4E FR set-up (1479 DR) and certain changes, while ignoring the vast majority of alterations and dumping all of the past lore I wanted to remain relevant (which was most of it) into 1479 DR.

Well, it was either total annihilation, or overrun by Sharrans. There were already Sharrans there, and it's not like they would have passed the chance to stick Shar into yet another part of Toril, so it would've gone to hell either way. The designers overran Thesk with Sharrans, they'd do the same to Halruaa. So, in a way, it was a mercy killing (or not). Innocent

Oct 21, 2009 18:32:09

Put me down as being 4E Rules without being 4E Realms. At the moment my group is playing the core Keep on the Shadowfell and getting our posterior sections handed to us in the process. I've had a single foray into the 4E Realms in the shape of the LFR MOON1-1 (Nature's Wrath) module that was run with intelligence and panache as a single evening one-shot. To say I was underwhelmed by the Realms specific elements of that module would be a phenomenal understatement.

I may go back to the 4E Realms as a game... maybe... in the distant future I can't rule it out.

#35

darth_k-trava

Oct 21, 2009 18:37:05

When some of us did a short-lived 4e campaign, we did Keep on the Shadowfell. Yes. It kicked our butts too.

#36

The_Silversword

Oct 21, 2009 18:45:40

I do love all the established lore with past editions, but 4e does allow for a bit of freedom. In alot of cases now i can just make stuff up, and theres no brainiac goin you cant do that, theres no ninja lich vampire dragons in this area, it sez so on page 123 of whatever source book.

Oh my life. Those are the opening words to an argument that has been rolling backwards and forewards across these forums definitely since just before the released of 4E (when I joined) and almost certainly for years before that. This is a personal plea from me.

I must of missed that. I did notice some hardcore edition bashing goin on, but not in the Realms section specificaly, ussually over in general discussion, or one of the other forums. Granted im sure theres alot that i missed. And i think ive been on here for 6 months now, I'm not sure. 1000 posts in 3 months? damn! you got me beat on that one. Ive been here I think 6-7 months and i just now got to 1000 so you have nothing to fear there. Granted I only started posting in the Realms boards like maybe 2 months ago. I was a long time reader, first time poster. I never felt the need to chime in, ussually answers were given pretty quickly, anything i wanted to ask had already been covered, but with alot of the people packin their bags and leavin I found more and more opprtunities to make my voice heard. I think Silversword has the aid of almost everyone here in his quest. If he'd like to use some of the lowest level Zhentarim as cannon fodder in his quest against the blight of Netheril, he knows the drill.

Weren't you the Helmite-in-chief before me? You're certainly more entitled to the lead than I am. That being said, the Hands of the Triad has a nice ring to it. Nai's Arvandor group is pulling its own. Maybe the souls of the House are ready to band together...
