#1 kryanthis Sep 09, 2008 13:27:37	I have not noticed any new character classes or races that identify the Realms as the Realms. I was exspecting a little more. If i over looked them or something let me know what page they are on the excerpts from WOC were great but they are not in the book.

It sounds like you are combing through the Forgotten Realms Campaign Guide looking for material that is supposed to be in the Forgotten Realms Player's Guide that is coming out later this month.

Yes, because those things belong to players and are thus contained in the upcoming Player's Guide. The book you bought is the Campaign Guide, which belongs to the DM. Alright then?

There are two books which supplement a D&D campaign in the Forgotten Realms The Forgotten Realms Campaign Guide The Campaign Guide is the first book, and was released on August 19th, and it details the overall setting and contains various things for a DM needs to run a campaign there. The Forgotten Realms Player's Guide The Player's Guide is the second book, and it contains the new character building options and information designed for players. It is this book that will contain the new classes, races, paragon paths, powers, etc, and it is not going to be officially released until September 16th. The excerpts you saw that contained information on Swordmages, Dark Pact Warlocks, and Purple Dragon Knights were from this book. You probably meant to purchase the Player's Guide, but might have accidentally purchased the Campaign Guide instead. I personally think you're better off with both, but if you only wanted the character-building information then you might want to see if you can return/exchange it for the Player's Guide instead.

Why it seems to be coming out 9 days later here in the UK than it is in the US is beyond me. And if anyone says language localisation...

It's hard to make a decent character backstory, along with goals and motives and such, when you know nothing, or very little about the world your character is from. Why it seems to be coming out 9 days later here in the UK than it is in the US is beyond me. -They need extra time to beat back the Liverpudlians, and then set the books on the shelves? :P
