Does Amn have a coat of arms, or symbol, or official colors, or something like that?

From Steven Schend:-

Yeah, many apologies, but I ran out of time long ago before doing up the coats of arms for noble families in Tethyr (and the nigh-extinct noble houses in Amn). That would be quite the project, even just in figuring out which noble houses survived the Black Days (precious few) and which ones in Amn survived the fall of the monarchy, etc. Then to detail said houses, both fallen and extant (since you can always find items and such with blazons and shields on them, whether there's a living relative who claims that mark or not).

In short, it's a lot of work that's never been done up front. [...] That said, you may be just as well off finding a basic book on heraldry and developing what you need on your own.

I do recall Ed previously noting something about Amn's "flag," and what it is, but I can't immediately remember where or when that was.

I just checked my gold box- there was a page with a bunch of heraldry on it - but nothing for Amn, unfortunately.

hmm, does it even mention anywhere if Amn has a national symbol, or what their flag looks like, or anything at all?

Here's why I'm asking - My Warlord PC used to be a soldier of Amn, and because I like to paint metal minis for my PCs, I wanted to incorporate Amnian colors/symbols into his paintjob. Plain silver armor is just so boring... ;)

If there's no info like that out there, then I'm just SOL! I guess I'm just surprised that with the all detail given to the Realms, it hasn't ever been mentioned... Oh well.

Surely a coin, or better a bag full of money. ;) :D

Since Amn is described as a society driven by status, wealth, merchants and how to achieve more of everything, I would think that many symbols used there would have something "worthy" in it. Maybe symbols represanting gods like Waukeen, or something like jewels, emeralds, coinage and such things.

Was there a symbol used in the PC game BG2? I mean something hanging around in the background of the great halls and the like in Athkatla. Maybe that would go for a coat of arms. In BG was the right symbol used for candlekeep, as far as I remember.

I'm not that much into Pathfinder, but I really like the fact that every nation in the campaign guide has an illustration of its flag. I might have to steal that idea for my homebrew Realms.

Makes me wish someone during FR's publication history could have thought of that...

One of the things that left me salivating for more with the release of the World of Greyhawk boxed set way back when was that it had a coat-of-arms for EVERY single nation printed on the front and back covers of the books.

It was mesmerizing... and brought that world to life for me. I prided myself on memorizing all of them.

Can't say I remember any of them now (time will do that), but I do remember that "warm, fuzzy felling" I got when I studied them.

There's a lot I miss about those old boxed sets, but I think the thing I miss the most was the 'heart' you can tell the designers put into it. back then, RPG products were labors of love.
