| #1entropysodaOct 26, 2008 9:52:31 | I ran the FR adventure in Dungeon 159 - Menace of the Icy Spire. (refer to my post http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=1098648 ) The summary of that post is that I need a Netherese ruin to run my PCs thru... I answer my own question in that I think a good plan will be to use the 3.5 Adventure "Anauroch" and convert, starting with Chapter 2: The Crypt of Augathra the Mad p.46, as that section seems like the best fit for exploring a Netherese ruin site. So I will begin converting soon (hopefully) to 4e, but If anyone wants to jump in and convert, feel free! |
| #2entropysodaOct 26, 2008 9:59:52 | Oh, this conversion will be designed for 4e PCs of lvls 6-10 or so. |
| #3addle-cove-anarchistOct 26, 2008 14:14:24 | don't bother, that adventure is awful you could make a better story in a few minutes |
| #4sfdragonOct 26, 2008 14:20:42 | well dont forget there is the depths of madness which is an upside down underground ruins of a netherese enclave... btw its also holds a shrine to two headed baboon dude. |
| #5old_sageOct 26, 2008 19:02:24 | well dont forget there is the depths of madness which is an upside down underground ruins of a netherese enclave... Negarath. And let me tell you... that place is just plain frightening. ![]() |
| #6sfdragonOct 26, 2008 20:15:42 | with that mutant troll.... oh yeah..... need a acid holy weapon just to off it |
| #7old_sageOct 26, 2008 21:04:59 | There are other reasons too. But I can't mention them here. Yet! *cue ominous music* :D |
| #8lord_karsusOct 26, 2008 22:13:54 | -You can use Undrentide. |
| #9sfdragonOct 27, 2008 0:11:29 | but isnt undrentide in lots of bity bitty pieces? and there is if your dm allows the fabled city of rubies, or its obliterated ruins |
| #10lord_karsusOct 27, 2008 10:03:18 | but isnt undrentide in lots of bity bitty pieces? -Don't think so. Neverwinter Nights: Shadows of Undrentide isn't canon or anything, so, regardless of what happened in the game (and I don't remember it doing much crashing or anything), it exists, it's a ruin, so there you go. |
| #11old_sageOct 27, 2008 20:02:47 | Actually, the enclave of Undrentide is marked on the "Netheril At Its Height" map on pg. 32 of Grand History of the Realms. |
| #12lord_karsusOct 27, 2008 22:16:34 | Actually, the enclave of Undrentide is marked on the "Netheril At Its Height" map on pg. 32 of Grand History of the Realms. -Yes, hence me saying that Undrentide exists, and that it's a ruin regardless of what happened in the video game, which was not canon. :P |
| #13rinonalyrna_fathomlinOct 28, 2008 9:38:04 | -Don't think so. Neverwinter Nights: Shadows of Undrentide isn't canon or anything, so, regardless of what happened in the game (and I don't remember it doing much crashing or anything), it exists, it's a ruin, so there you go. Show After the PC defeats the BBEG of SoU, the flying Undrentide begins to fall to the ground, and the PC manages to escape (into the Plane of Shadow, no less) before going down with it. Of course, we never actually see Undrentide crash, so... And of course, I agree that one can in truth just use it however one wants to. |

| #15rinonalyrna_fathomlinOct 28, 2008 11:19:23 | Indeed, the ruins should still be there somewhere in the desert.![]() |
| #16entropysodaOct 29, 2008 9:40:02 | But Undrentide and Negarath only appear in a PC game and a novel. I am looking for something written for dnd, i.e. a module, to convert. So it still seems like Anauroch is still my best bet... |
| #17old_sageOct 29, 2008 9:57:10 | Re: Negarath. Take special note of what I said earlier:- There are other reasons too. But I can't mention them here. Yet! |
| #18rinonalyrna_fathomlinOct 29, 2008 10:15:47 | But Undrentide and Negarath only appear in a PC game and a novel. Right, but we mentioned them for you just in case you were interested in using them. |
| #19lord_karsusOct 29, 2008 10:36:42 | But Undrentide and Negarath only appear in a PC game and a novel. -Undrentide appears in AGHotR. That it exists is canon. Everything else, not necessarily so, but it doesn't necessarily mean that you have to throw it all out/ignore it. In other words, you can take a look at the maps and plots of Neverwinter Nights: Shadows of Undrentide, and use them/alter them, to suit your needs, should you choose to. -That's what I meant by that. |
| #20old_sageOct 29, 2008 19:36:30 | -Undrentide appears in AGHotR. That it exists is canon. As does Negarath, in the Hammer 1 entry for 1375 DR. |
| #21lord_karsusOct 29, 2008 21:32:46 | As does Negarath, in the Hammer 1 entry for 1375 DR. -Yes, that's a novel. The canonicity of Negarath was never in question. Undrentide being in the video game, however, it's was. |
