| #2AbsintaJan 16, 2010 10:07:56 | Airspur is a big Genasi city made out of multiple Earthmotes connected with sky bridges and ski-lift-like things---sounds almost steampunk-ish to me, but anyway, it's definitely a place you could use for that idea. |
| #3Silverblade_The_EnchanterJan 16, 2010 12:05:53 | ah, thank you!! ![]() |
| #4ImruphelJan 16, 2010 18:33:57 | 1.bp.blogspot.com/_4AvW1Aodcoc/SjfQ2ava2...![]() That's an outstanding picture of Airspur that you might find inspiring. |
| #5Silverblade_The_EnchanterJan 16, 2010 19:05:14 | oh, ta! greta artist ![]() so Airspur isn't itself, an Earthmote per se but a canyon or such with many air motes inside? is it in the 4th ed guide to the Realms? never noticed it if so :/ |
| #6sfdragonJan 16, 2010 20:34:40 | well airspur is listed in both the campaign guide and the players guide, but I think that art came from one of the airspur dragon articles. could be wrong though |
| #7The_Simbul_of_AglarondJan 16, 2010 23:50:18 | Yaulazna, a floating city and stronghold of the Five Companies, whom are a collection of skyship mercenary companies allied with the remaining wizards of Halruaa. The city itself rests upon a highly magical earthmote that moves at the direction of the wizards of the pact council and is a center of trade. Forgotten Realms Campaign Guide p.256 |
| #8ImruphelJan 17, 2010 0:14:14 | oh, ta! greta artist No, Airspur is the city you see here on multiple earthmotes. The picture is from the first of three Airspur articles (the first two in Dragon, the third in Dungeon) and not from the FRCG or FRPG. |
| #9gomeztooJan 17, 2010 9:47:30 | The Arrow Point Institute, a boarding school for the rich, located in High Dale, is on an earthmote (RPGA adventure: DALE1-7 Arts). |
| #10Silverblade_The_EnchanterJan 19, 2010 15:56:51 | Cheers, all! ![]() found a map of Airspur, hm....will see what I get up to ;) |
| #11The_SilverswordJan 20, 2010 20:02:31 | Nice artwork Silverblade! Love the Spelljammer stuff! Look foward to seeing what you do with some Realmsian earth motes. Awesome user name too! Silverswords/blades are the way to go! Much more practicle than gold blades! You cant kill werewolves with those! |
| #12Silverblade_The_EnchanterJan 21, 2010 7:14:52 | The_Silversword thanks mate! ![]() Spelljammer and Dark SUn are my faves! I loved the *original* 1st grey box set of the Realms but since then...meh (though I love most of the Drizzt novels, and Neverwinter Nights games) I like the visuals of some of the 4th ed Realms, Rich Baker's books really give some sense of that truly alieniness of Abeir-Toril crash I jsut wasn't happy with how the 4th ed FRCG (and 4th ed in general) portrays D&D, it doesn't "grip" me. Sorry not meant as an edition war as I actually preffer 4th ed, just the lack of interesting graphic design feels so bloody sterile Great easy to play layout, but no "soul", visually.Ever heard of "Secret of the Silver Blades"? ;) I used to post a lot on the Inteprlay boards for Baldur's Gate so apparently that's why they used that name for a character in it :p |
