Hello,

My players in our current campaign (4e...heavily modified house rules anyways so anything/place that i want to use, will be used as needed with changes accordingly)....have travelled to Faerun...Sigil, planescape was a bit hard for some of the more traditional players to grasp, so they voted to find a general campaign world to go to for a while and they ended up on faerun.

AFter some travelling, they have come to the region around the well of dragons....

i want to know which game accessories (2e, 3e, or 4e) have good information on The Well of Dragons...have a month before next session, so if that book is a 'worthy' one...i can probably buy it before then...i have some 2e and 3e books but none have info on this feature of the planet...

Regards,

Sanjay

-Cult of the Dragon definitely, and The Draconomicon (2e) and Dragons of Faerûn possibly.

Volo's Guide to the Sword Coast for 2e, and Lords of Darkness for 3e have 2 pages and maybe 4 pages respectively, though both are pretty different from one another. LoD has the benefit of maps and presumes that the CotD took it over, while VGttSC details it a bit before they took it over and tells of a Calishite researcher who lives nearby, studying it. Depends on the approach you want to take with it I guess as to which is better, though I don't recall LoD mentioning the sage at all in it. Those are the two best sourcebooks I know of for it. Don't really recall much being mentioned in Cult of the Dragon, Dragons of Faerun, or The Draconomicon beyond a few relatively brief recaps of what was in the other two, if that much.

Hmph....

I really didn't leave a very good spot for that on the newest map.

I may need to add a hill/dormant volcano on there....

Edit: Quick fixed-it (that just a rush-job)

Maybe I am snatching something out of thin air... but wasn't one of the sentinel books somehow related to the Well of Dragons?

3ED and 3.5ED Lords of Darkness has maps for the Well and some NPC's to encounter as well.

The part about the Well in Dragons of Faerun is quite big, IIRC.

It was a half-page or so... and very much an abbreviated recap of the stuff in LoD I thought.

-Being as that I was flipping through DoF recently, there's nothing really in there. You'd think, but...
