You can't buy WotC eBooks in every country (heck, if you live in Singapore - as I did for over a decade - you can't even get Kindle!).
/\ So this post is totally irellevant, or expired? I'm in Japan... I didn't even think it mattered. It's hard enough getting any books in English over here. Why wouldn't a company always allow international orders on all their books? It makes no sense!
For those in America, how many books show up under the eBook-->Fantasy category on amazon? 34,362 results come up for me, but if I type in Forgotten Realms, I only get 26 results. Does anyone get anything different?
I got 225 results, in the states. Have you tryed a google search? migh find some available that way.
I have tried Google, but thanks for the confirmation. I think I have an idea--simply change my IP address using a program to an American one. Then hopefully I can buy them as a transfer-from-pc-to-kindle deal and I'll be fine. I'll have to wait until I get home though. Thank you.

The restraint of trade has to do with protectionism. I'm from Oz and the problem there is a deal that the domestic book publishers cut to protect themselves from American competition (or imperialism, depending on your perspective). WotC would prefer to sell all over - they have said as much - but they're not exactly big enough to buy US trade policy (as they are not Goldman Sachs et al).

I was in Japan (until yesterday) and had similar problems trying to find FR ebooks... now I am back in the UK and still having the same problem! Bah.

Well I am very happy to say that changing my IP address and registering my Kindle worked! I now have Downshadow, Evermeet and The Thousand Orcs (since it was the last Drizzt book I ever read, and my compulsion with reading books in order won't allow me to simply skip up to the new series... even thoguh I already know what happens >.>)

From the looks of things, you also need a valid US billing address. I am running into problems trying to get the books for my kindle.

And me, especially since the ebook only versions don't seem to be available in my region, fairly effectively preventing me from supporting those releases at all!

I am a US citizen so I signed up for Amazon long ago with my US address. My problem is I am in Japan and cannot afford to be moving books with me when I transfer (I already have 2 bookshelves full). I would much prefer getting the actual books than ebooks, but alas, this is the smartest option for me.

Maybe you can have a friend in the US start a new account, buy what you want, and then give you the login info.
