Are all song dragons female, and if so, is there a male equivalent?

How is it that all song dragons are females? I was interested in playing 1 however i think my group i run with would have way too much fun abusing me for that heh.

Is there an alternative to a song dragon that can look human and still be able to use his abilities. It's lvl 11, and i understand like golds and silvers can polymorph and some can at various levels, but what is best?

That is correct.

What editions of the rules are you using?  You could play a half-song dragon.

err...it's a game. If you don't like a rule that determines 'form only' YOU CAN ALWAYS CHANGE IT. Sheesh!! Or is it a case of 'If that is the way WoTC write it, it MUST be obeyed'?

Yes it must be obeyed!

Do you want the Editionstapo coming to get your books?

Just make a male, it will be alright.

No one expects the 4Editionstapo - our two main weapons are re-writing, hashing and fixing things things that aint broke...wait our THREE main weapons are re-writing, hashing, fixing things that aint broke and turning the RPG that started it all into a combat game to entice WoW players....wait our FOUR main weapons.... (with apologies to Monty Python!!!)

You do know that this is bad advice...maybe the players and DMs in the group like the flavor of song dragons only being able to turn into female humens...

I mean I am all for throwing out bad flavor( look what I did with the 4th ed Realms), but rather something is bad or not is up to the DM and players.  I generaly assume that he already asked his DM...and he said no.

So I'll repeat...what about a half-song dragon?  You can be male...and song dragonish.

No, there is  a male song dragon. He's on pp. 150 of Dragons of Faerun. His name is Ilden Garthammus and he lives in Hawkarth/Border Kingdom. He was the only male that I could find, but it is a textual proof that songs can indeed be male, though it seems highly rare.
