Is there any news on what happened to Azuth?

Well yes, yes there is. Its not very good news however. When Mystra's plane was destroyed he basically fell through Astral Space and into the 9 Hells, where he was absorbed by Asmodeus, thereby transforming him (Asmodeus) into the Devil-God! So Azuth is dead now, and Asmodeus is a god, like i said, not very good news.

That is a pretty big IF, there. At this point in the campaign my group is playing we are dashing through a fortress trying to get an Asmodean "Paladin" to stand still long enough for us to cut his head off.

..I doubt that there are many Asmodeus worshipping characters around.
