Bardic traditions in Faerun

I'm going to be playing a half-elf bard (prescient) in an upcoming Forgotten Realms campaign and I know very little about Forgotten Realms (I have the player's guide and the campaign guide).


I was wondering if there are any bardic colleges or is it mostly mentor-apprentice?


Edit: What are some good at-wills for a half-elf bard to take?

Yes there are Bardic colleges in the Realms. Im sure every major city has one. I know theres one in Waterdeep for sure. Im sure that theres some in the Moonshaes as well, being as it and the Bard are both heavly based off of the ancient Celts. But Im sure theres plenty of Mentor and Apprentice type of Bardic learning as well. It all just depends on what you want to go with.


As for good at wills I like Vicious Mockery and Jinx shot. Those are the ones I picked for My Half-Elven Bard. And I picked the Warlocks Eldritch Strike as my Dillettante, but it just depends on what kind of Bard youre going with, Mines more of a fighter type, really all the At-Wills are useful and have their place.

Yes! thats it! I knew there was a Bardic College in Waterdeep but I didnt remember the name of it, and I didnt feel like going through various books looking for it (i know im lazy). So does any one else know of any official listings of Bardic Colleges in the Realms?
