#1 Faediira Dec 10, 2014 14:48:33	I was wondering something can a bard or even a bard diletantte sorcerer gain a familiar??? Actually i've been wondering about that for a long time. I read some of the 3e and 3.5e books and i was like ther'es nothing in here that says i can't and most bards with a high use magic device skill can use just about any sorcerer/wizard scroll. Maybe my bard finds a find familiar scroll and gets one. Its a thought and I believe it could in effect work.    My other question concerns what the powers of a demigod might be? I have also looked in the books i do have and I really don't have a clue how it works in 4e. Matter of fact the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth, I read one thing then it said go to the dmg so i went there and it didn't show me jack squat. Thank you so much WOTC for screwing dnd up for me. This was all so much easier back in 2nd ed.
#2 Mr_Miscellany Dec 12, 2014 21:52:23	Under 3rd edition you'd want your character to take a level of sorcerer or wizard--at least that's how the system intends for players to create characters that have abilities from different classes. Regarding demigods: a god is a god is a god. Unless you're building a character or campaign with characters already at 21st level or higher, it's better to simply have the deity do what you need it to do and not worry about rules, limitations or overstepping as a DM.
#3 Faediira Dec 13, 2014 8:52:49	how about a bard sorcerer diletantte would that work as well...my character can use all sorc/wiz scrolls...and priest/cleric scrolls she has a very high use magic device.

#5 Faediira Dec 13, 2014 11:03:55	ok so if i get this right bard sorc diletantte gives her levels in sorcerer just as if she was a sorcerer. Just want to make sure \I'm doing this right. see my original bard character was 2e so i'm trying to upgrade her the right way through the editions. And i'd like her to have  a familiar so it still coincide with what i've already done with her.
