I found the old AD&D Calimport book that gave me plenty of information, but I was wondering what exact 3.0/3.5 references covered Calimshan (if any).

Heh. Good luck with that. The only thing that comes to mind is Lost Empires of Faerun, but that's mostly (if not entirely) based on the region's history, and in any case draws almost entirely from 2e sources like Calimport and Empires of the Shining Sea.

2e's Empires of the Shining Seas has some stuff on Calimport, and quite a bit on Calimshan in general, as does Lands of Intrigue to a lesser extent. Hasn't been much specific coverage on it in 3e though for whatever reason though.

-Calimshan was one of the places that didn't really get much from 3e, which, in my opinion, is too bad. Instead of another Waterdeep supplement, it would have been nice to get a Calimportsupplement. I mean, really, Calimport is just about as detailed as Waterdeep.

-Calimshan is to Waterdeep as the City of Brass is to Sigil. How's that for a relevant comparison, eh? :D

I totally agree with you LK!

I thought that the 2e stuff was it.. but was hoping that maybe somehow I'd missed something.. ..

I guess it's 2e material I'll be combing through as I come up with a background for my latest player character:

A Calishite Swordsage of the Desert Wind who grew up in the Muzad and is decended from the ancient Efreet of the area.

Been so long since I played I'd forgotten how fun it is!

While there hasn't been an official update... Steven Schend has presented the occasional mental meandering regarding possible future events in the region based on what he'd written previously. They're in the compiled reply archives over at Candlekeep.
