I believe that the Bloodstone Lands accessory, the 4 part 1E adventure series, and the two Salvatore novels are it.

Well there are some random references on the territory and the Year of Rogue Dragons trilogy spend a reasonable amount of time there as well.

-Download the Forgotten Realms bibliography from Candlekeep. It's free, and it'll help you from having these kinds of "problems" again.

-Mmmhmm. Especially if the problem is as bad as the OP says.

I don't recall candlekeep ever helping someone get a little sumthin-sumthin before

-You'd be surprised, I guess. Well, at least, now you have one example. So, there's precedent. The next time your wife is having "the headache", you know where to go for help now!

-Don't know. I think they're going to stick around, more or less as they are right now, because the region:

(A) Is one of the few "arctic" regions
(B) Has a very Lord of the Rings feel to it, with the Witch-King, and everything

-That's just my personal musings, though.

true enough, and it already fit the "points of light" ideal, much like the Silver Marches

I am certain there was a mention of a warlock realm in vaasa somewhere. Maybe another part of transplanted Abeir *snickers

-Yes, that too.

-Warlocks aren't necessarily linked to "Abeir". They already exist now, in 3e, so.

A warlock tiefling realm.

-Still, neither are specifically new. We've had Warlocks, and we've had Tieflings. We'll see, I guess. There isn't much more to say about it right now, anyway.

A warlock tiefling realm.

Oh sure. That's just what the Realms need. I swear to god in heaven I feel like 4th edition is the angsty power gamer Halo-playing teen version of D&D. Next thing you know guns will be common place, elves with duel wielding swords will be a plague upon the lands, and GP will be redefined as "BLING BLING".

-I'm not sure how you got A to equal B, there, but please do not post inflammatory comments.

I'd agree that 4e has made D&D a more common, easy to learn board game, which is exactly what I don't like. The fact that there was a rule for everything might have made it a pain but it was what made it more than a game.

But yes the bloodstone lands do have the Lord of the Rings feel that has seemed to fled the Forgotten realms in the past years.

I think it has mostly to do with the unabundance of magic. Everything in the Bloodstone Lands that is magical seems to have that classic mystic still tied to it, while in other places if you don't know or have access to magic your basicly undone. Or to quote a favorite movie of mine "Your analog players in a digital world." -Greico Roman, Oceans 13.

That coupled with the fact that they are for the most part, unsettled lands, making it seem more like a wild frontier than in other reaches of Faruen.

I am placing my first 4E campaign in Damara. I'm blending the "Tougher in Alaska" (i.e. surviving in a harsh environment) with raiding goblinoids, a high population of tough and rumble monstrous creatures, lawless frontiers, and a backlash effect of the spell plague. While the Witch King was defeated a little over a century ago, the spell plague captured and enhanced some of his lingering magic. Now, the region of Damara and Vaasa are played by dormant necromantic energies. When a person dies the dormant necromantic energies infuse undeath into the body, raising the creature as an undead.

Bands of undead roam Damara. Usually a group of mindless undead under the control of a more powerful intelligent undead. What few settlements remain in Damara have become walled defensive sanctuaries. Military prowess has become the resource of value as it helps defend the communities and provide for the basic necessities... protecting food stores and shelter.

The Witch King will eventually become the epic BBEG. Right now, the PCs going through the KotS and attempting to put a stop to an ambitious cult of Tharizdun from bringing the shadowfell closer and releasing their mad master.

-Tharizdun isn't exactly..."active" in Realmspace. Up there in the Bloodstone Lands, Orcus is very active.
