Hi guys and gals, I hope this is the correct forum relating to the novels. So as the title states what books would be considered prequisites for the Heroes and Villains of the Sundering? I've caught up to Drizzt and Elminster. I've read both of Farideh's books and am currently reading Silverfall. Are there any other reads to give me back story to the other characters appearing in the Sundering? Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Thank you for checking out my thread.

the 2 baldur's gate novels would provide Abdels( or what ever his name is) backstory, but hey so does the baldur's gate pc games.( he dies in the murder in BG adventure)

the everis cale novelline can provide some background deals for a few of the characters in godborn.

and at the moment that is all I can think of

the other loremasters here might add more to it

I'd have to know who else is in the sundering series to know more.

yeah him.... mage's herald I think has that wizard bum in it thats in the 4e frcg or the charagter guisde, he's the guy that says by mystra's lost spell.....( that guy creeps me out, like he's Lord Azuth in disguise or something.)

Hi BuuBuu,

The red character names are almost all new characters. Kleef, Arietta, Umara, Stedd, and Anton don't appear in any other books, so you're all caught up there!

Malik is missing his link, but he appears in the Avatar series and Return of the Archwizards. So if you want to read all the titles that relate to the Sundering, you should read those too.

However (and I say this more for others since you're already approaching the finish line), I feel obliged to note that the goal we all had in mind was to write books that readers could jump in with. So if you miss any preceding titles, you can still pick up the books of the Sundering.

Best,

Erin

the death of mystra.. in a nutshell

she got spanked by Cyric in her own home.

there is no novel that details the oh so clishayed death of the lady of mysteries.

there are some that put on it to a point.

the emperyrieal saga has a scene with a vision of it.

one of the others... one of the Thay boooks also touched on it.

visions nothing else

I agree with Lighain though, Callin... orwhatever his name was, Alistair's brother was not a good king and his death was his opwn doing.

haha yeah that was the nursemaid's fault. Cailan loved those stories and that's all he ever wanted to be. According to canon Alistair actually becomes king (although it's not sure if he married Loghain's daughter). In the first graphic novel he finds out that Maric is actually not dead but instead was forced on a quest by flemeth. He goes off to find Maric and thats where the dwarf in DA 2 with the crossbow comes in.

What books should i read in order to get the back story to the charcters that show up in the series "The Sundering"?  I am a huge R. A. Salvatore fan and have read all the books relating to the life of Drizzt and all of his companions, but i dont know very much out side

of that.  any suggestions would be much appreciated.
