Hello,

This thread is for Realms DMs to share bits and pieces of their campaigns.

Specifically, it is a place for Realms DMs to feature campaign elements that they have written up and customized on their own as an extension of the existing lore in the 4E Forgotten Realms Campaign Guide and 4E FR Player’s Guide in order to run adventures in the Realms.

Note that this can include lore that you've revised to suit your campaign needs.

For example, in my campaign (IMC) the Eldreth Veluuthra are not in control of the Hullack Forrest. Instead, they are engaged in hit and run battles with goodly surface drow for control of the wood.

I’ll got a whole bag of for anyone that shares homebrew stuff about the Abolethic Sovereignty.

My first encounter for my players is Glymph Tower. As such I've tweaked it and then advanced it from the 3.5e Glymph Tower to the 4e Glymph Tower. Although it contains spoilers so if you're in my game please don't read on.

When the Spellplague hit the wards that kept the demons within Glymph Tower failed allowing them all to roam free in Dunwood (they would later be joined by the demons that the Burning Man accidentally released). Due to the restructuring of the planes the portal that led to the Abyss now points to another plane (which is more friendly to my level 1 players).

Since the demons left the tower it has become inhabited by other monsters. Its also recently become home to a so-called oracle.

Within the spoiler block is a plan for the ground level of my Glymph Tower. It contains spoilers once more so please don't read on if you're my player:

It has an outer wall with a large set of gates that people normally stay at to speak with the oracle. Within the gates is a courtyard with a tower at the north end of the courtyard and a stable on the east end. Within the double doors of the Tower is a foyer with a fountain. To the right of the doors is an archway which leads to stairs which head up to the first level. Beyond the fountain is a hallway which has heavy doors which were once locked before they were broken. Within each room is a trapdoor (again, once locked before the demons escaped) which lead down into separate rooms, each with multiple stone cells which once had magic wards to keep demons trapped within.

Somethign I've been toying with is the resurrection of spellmantles.

At first Spellmantles might seem a highly complex form of magic when compared to the "simple" nature of 4E magic, but when you take a closer look at the 4E rules set you see that it has numerous examples of arcane and divine powers that suspend over the caster and trigger when certain things happen.

I've thought about creating a new catch-all term like "spellshrouds" but I'm not quite sure if that term has been used or not in prior Realmslore.

Perhaps you could also make a spellmantle from a trigger as you said but also make a stance out of it. That way, it could be a lasting effect which could be dismissable (in favor of another one or to just end...) that way it could perhaps have more than one effect.

Just throwing out ideas for whatever they are worth...

Perhaps the expanded spellbook feat could be replaced with a spellmantle feat which would work exactly the same way only giving access to a different set of daily powers than are normally available to a wizard.

Another thought would be a paragon path devoted to the spellmantle. The 11th level power could be a trigger spell with certain triggers and energy types etc. which are chosen when the path is take. The 12th and 20th level dailies could be more triggers or perhaps stances like mentioned before. (Sorry, I am stuck on stances for some reason.) The abilities (non 'power') gained at 11th level and 16th level could be buffs available in certain situations similar to other paragon paths. Perhaps base it off the battlemage paragon path.

Just a couple of thoughts...

Edit note: Missed part of the OP. Will come up with something.
