Calendar of Harptos - days of the tenday

Jun 01, 2010 18:37:52 So, I've been looking at using MasterPlan for running my campaign, and so I decided to set up the Calendar of Harptos in MasterPlan.

I've got the months and the festivals in... but it's only occured to me now that I have no idea if the days in each tenday have a name, as they do in our modern 7 day week. Can anyone shed any light on this for me?

Jun 01, 2010 22:50:07 Aye, I can help you, but youre going to be dissapointed. The Days dont have any names! They are only known as firstday, secondday, etc. I remeber there being something in print on this, might be the original box set, I'll go take a look and see if I can find it.

However you could always make up some names if you wish, its possible, even likely, that at some point in Faerun's history there was a race or culture that gave names to the days of the week.

You could play off of our real world names, Like Moonday, Tyrsday, Aosday, or whatever.

You could pretty much do what ever you wanted to, its your game, but officially, they didnt have actual names, just numbers.

And Caturday. You can't forget Caturday.

I was familiar with that tool, but hadn't looked at it in a very long time. I had forgotten that it included lunar cycles, which is information that could be useful for one of the campaigns I'm in.

Jun 02, 2010 11:30:12 when i started a FRCS campaign the one thing i did was name the days - i just took 10 gods names and used them or altered them slightly like we do in the real world ie thursday was Thor's Day (sorry if i'm insulting your intelliegence here) - different areas and races had different names but we (the gaming group) compromised and a 'common week' by day names was agreed.

the first day and the tenth day are the 'weekend' so these days were named after gods of revelry/wine or real world influences etc -From memory: first day Lathsday (lathander/sunday), second Hathors day (moonday/monday)

God only knows where the actual info is amongst all my folders, sourcebooks, character sheets and computer files. Hope this helps...
