I am running a campaign with new, level 1 characters. I have a party of four including a half-orc fighter, a human cleric, a moon elf rogue, and a moon elf warlock. They began their careers in Halruua, at Halagard. They have ventured northwest toward Ahklaur's Swamp.
I am looking for any suggestions about a campaign idea I can run through. Any thoughts for adventure ideas or hooks would be greatly appreciated!

When I think of swamps, I think of black dragons.
Sure you're running a 1st level game, but you can just use really young black dragons, even if only for one encounter.
Swamps make me think of swarming, diseased rats. Also zombies and undead.
So.....you could run a recovery-type adventure, where the players have to make their way a relatively short distance into the swamp to recover something of some interest to an NPC.
Perhaps a pair of black dragon hatchlings ambushed some human bandits (or even Crinti raiders far from home) within Ahklaur's swamp, where those bandits were busy dividing up the spoils of a raid on a merchant/local town/person of import (you choose).
The kicker will be that your players will go in expecting to fight the bandits, only to discover it's dragons they must battle for control of what the bandits took.
Along the way you can have the swamp (or something more nefarious) animate a few bandit bodies (your zombie encounter), have rat swarms attack the players and then run an encounter in the swamp at some abandoned fort (or abandoned wizard's tower) where the players will encounter the pair of black dragons.
And there you go!

-Do you have Red hand of Doom? Its for 5/6th level characters. It has a hook where the PC's have found a map to Vraath Keep. You may want to keep that in mind.
-If not then disreguard. Mr M had some good suggestions too.

May I also recommend the Red Hand of Doom adventure? Although I've never run it, I have read through it and think it's be a good choice to run.
And if its in some ruins in the swamp, so much the better.
